"I stayed at the Angad last night for the first time for my birthday. From the moment we got there, we were greeted and directed on where to go to check in. The check in staff were immediately welcoming and friendly. The check in process was quick and easy. We let them surprise us with the color and they ended up giving me my favorite color, green! That felt like a birthday win. The second we opened the door and saw the room it was an immediate mood boost. I have wanted to stay at Angad for awhile and finally seeing a room in person was so exciting and exactly what I expected. We had a corner room so it was super quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view. The big windowsill was such a nice touch too. We had drinks at the rooftop bar and it was decorated beautifully and everyone was so kind to us. The views again, were beautiful and even with it being winter they had great accommodations to keep it warm but still full rooftop. We decided to take a tour of the hotel to view all of the art. The map to find the art is such a fun and unique addition to your experience. We ran into the manager Marco a few times and each time he was so friendly and helpful. So much so that he let us see some of the beautiful art floors we wouldn’t have had access to without him. He also gave us so many fun facts about the hotel and art. Marco really helped make my birthday feel even more special with the mini guided tour. To close it off we had drinks down at the Common Wealth bar and Sam and Megan were such a delight. They too, were so welcoming and made the stay at Angad one to remember. The room was clean, the shower was wonderful, the bed was really comfortable, and it was overall a birthday I will never forget. Whether it’s a special event, travel, or you want to have a staycation in St Louis, I cannot recommend staying here enough! You truly do not need to leave the building to have a beautiful time. I can’t wait to go back and experience another colored room! Thanks Angad for being such a beautiful gem in St Louis."
"Came here for my birthday and was able to book a room at a great rate after other plans fell through. Parish was extremely friendly, helpful and considerate in our interaction. We stayed on the blue floor which I highly recommend. The hotel was weird, quirky and artsy and absolutely perfect for my partner and I. Not to mention everything we did activity wise was within 10 min of the room. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying here again!"
"Let me say that I picked this hotel because of the character and it definitely did not disappoint from that standpoint. View the video for yourself. The color was infused into the room so nicely that it was not as overwhelming as some might think it to be. The views from the 11th floor overlooking the fox theatre were also amazing. Therefore, it’s unfortunate that I could not rank it higher but the cons definitely outweighed this art-inspired hotel. 1) Phil (front desk) was very off putting. Do not look for him to provide you with any assistance that does not come along with a side of attitude and agitation. 2) The cleanliness of the room was 3 stars, if that. I had to move to a different room after finding stains on my pillows and dust everywhere. My second room was without stained pillows but dust was still everywhere and the shower had hair. I didn’t ask to be moved to another room because it seemed pointless and I always travel with shower shoes. Problem solved. 3) It gets dark in the rooms once the sun sets because the light fixtures in the room do not provide adequate lighting. Overall, it was nice to stay at a place with character but this hotel fell short of what I’m accustomed to when it comes to 4 star hotels. I would pick somewhere else to stay if I needed to return to St. Louis."
"I'll be honest, when I first pulled up I got American Horror Story: Hotel vibes. It's definitely an odd hotel but my overall experience there was good. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean (and was all one color). The rooftop lounge was a great place to take in the skyline and have a drink. I don't know if they had room service because I usually bring my own snacks and what not. The location was convenient, however; I wouldn't go strolling around at night or solo. It's literally on the edge of the neglected part of town. And $17/night for parking was a little shock when I checked in. Just make it a set fee or free."
"My wife and I stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and it has been amazing! The view from the room and from the rooftop is absolutely stunning. You get a great view of the skyline (including the Arch), the Fox Theatre, and the Powell Amphitheatre (currently under renovations). The hotel is in a pretty convenient location and it's easy to get elsewhere in St. Louis from it, it's less than 5 mins from the Interstate. The rooms are very clean and the service is fantastic. We have left our room for our daily activities and every day we have come back with the bed made, towels replaced, and trash taken out without even having to request any of it. The bed is comfortable, though the pillows were a little soft for our liking so we grabbed the ones off the couch instead. The rooftop bar/restaurant is also more than worth the trip upstairs, the breakfast is tasty, filling, and a good value. Overall I give it a 9.5/10."
