"All of my kitties go to Austin Vet Care and every different need has been met with stellar service & exemplary medical care. When we've had to say goodbye to our family member, the staff has been amazing and caring and loving in our grief. When the fuzz balls are sick, the staff is thorough and clear about all the steps we need to take to get them back on their paws. When it's just checkup time, the staff gushes about how cute they are and calms them and dotes on them. WE LOVE AUSTIN VET CARE AT CENTRAL PARK. Thank you thank you for being a safe place to bring our fluffs."
"Dr.Lamkin is the best. She treats my senior cat and diabetic dog with so much love, patience, and respect. I also appreciate how she treats me as their owner. She is clear on what is going on with each pet, what each medication does, and always has such a warm, comforting presence. Every vet tech and receptionist have also been an absolute pleasure to interact with. All employees here are great, and I feel that is VERY rare to come by. I recommend this location to anyone looking for a primary vet. As long as I am in Austin, this is where I will be going."
"Not Recommended under any circumstances. Long story short, my dog had a necrotizing bite wound on his extremely swollen leg that was in danger of amputation. Instead of sending me to an Emergency Center, the doctor advised me to try and prevent the amputation at home using oral medication from Walgreens and a kitchen sink water sprayer. Even though I followed the doctor's instructions precisely, my dog's foot only got worse and he developed a severe infection (105 temp + Sepsis). The doctor and her supervisor deny any responsibility and can't (or won't) answer my questions about how his condition only worsened following their treatment plan. Why would you ever place the overwhelming burden, pressure, and responsibility of preventing an amputation upon a client (customer) who has no medical training and no medical equipment? Imagine the terrible psychological stress of being tasked to save your dog's leg from being surgically cut off. Without medical training. Without medical diagnostic or monitoring equipment. Without intravenous antibiotics. Without any trained professionals to assist you. This is what the doctor at Central Park expected me to do. I've now learned that advanced treatments such as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy have been proven to promote wound healing and reduce the risks of amputation. But the same doctor at Central Park believed a kitchen water sprayer (10 min every 8 hours) was the best option. The entire case is now pending review by the Texas Board of Veterinary Examiners. You have been warned. Bring your pet to this location at your own risk. RIP Logan, the world has lost one of its greatest creatures."
"My dog broke his toenail and I was trying to take him to the vet ASAP but it was a Saturday and my usual vet couldn't see him. Austin Vet Care let me bring him in in between appointments and fixed up his toenail so quickly and added a fun bandaid to it and it healed perfectly! I am very appreciative of their helpfulness and great care of my little buddy."
"I took my 4 month old kitten here as I, an overly concerned cat mom, was worried that an injury on his paw was becoming infected and wanted to get him seen ASAP on a Sunday. We waited in the car for only about 20-25 minutes, which was really great, especially considering it wasn’t an outright life threatening issue and I know at emergency places they go by severity (which, of course, makes sense) and waits can get long. So already, that was way better than I expected! The care was also excellent. The vet and vet techs communicated with me via phone frequently and with lots of details, which I appreciated since I couldn’t actually be in the clinic with him. They were extremely helpful, answered all of my questions, and gave me advice for next steps. I’m at a bit of a loss to understand why these great vets don’t have a higher rating, but I think that’s always the case with emergency services. When you’re stressed out over your pet having a possibly life threatening injury or illness, you can’t see your normal vet, there’s so much that’s out of your control, and even if the vets do everything they can, you still might lose your sweet pet, it’s nearly impossible to have a good overall experience. However, the quality of care these vets/animal lovers provided was excellent. I don’t think you can go into the field of emergency veterinary services without really caring about animals, and the care of these vets was evident from my communication with them. I’m glad to know they are nearby 24/7 should I ever need to (but hopefully not!) rely on their excellent care again."
