"This place is a Zero. My two rescue dogs were boarded here for 5 weeks only because we were waiting on rescue transport to get them from Texas to Ohio. One of my babies is dead because of urine burns on his lungs creating pneumonia. The damage was so significant that Sampson died several weeks later, after I got him back to Ohio. Auggie is still alive but suffers daily effects from the urine burns to his lungs. We have Veterinary reports to prove all of this. While kenneled there, my friend volunteered to go to the kennel to help clean and found everything filthy and my dogs were saturated with urine, stuck in a room with no ventilation, a type of closet, not a kennel. I got them on transport shortly after learning this but it was too late for poor Sampson’s immune system to fight the damage. This woman Sabrina, lied about everything, too much to go into detail. She knew my boys were heartworm positive, claimed to be a vet teach, yet subjected them to inhaling continual fumes of urine? Still charged $1500 for no care board. I’d ask her the same questions while checking on my boys, a couple times a week, on purpose, about their care and she’d give me different answers, which I recorded. She couldn’t remember her own lies day to day. The rescue and a generous donor spent another $2800 trying to save Sampson’s innocent life. This so called kennel needs to be investigated because these people can’t even “like” dogs to do what they did to Auggie & Sampson. They are innocent rescued dogs from the streets of San Antonio. This so called kennel really should be prosecuted for animal cruelty because of this and I know there are others. The owner Sabrina, will lie and deny but she knew exactly what she was doing, she just simply didn’t care. This place is disgusting, filthy & cruel to dogs and should be permanently closed with cruelty charges filed against them"
"Wow do not take your dog here…. Ever. If you care about your pet at all this is not the place to bring it. Went this morning to drop my dog off for boarding as my family and I were leaving out of town for Thanksgiving. Got there at 8:15am and door was locked when they open at 8am. Worker came out of his car to get my dog and said he would take care of check in so I could leave. I insisted to wait around and walk my dog inside with him. Once inside I was shocked. In the lobby was 4 dogs in metal kennels sitting in there own urine and one dog was sitting in huge pile of puke. Place looked like it had never been cleaned in months. If this is what the lobby looks like I would hate to see what the back kennels look like. No way I was leaving my dog here. Had to cancel our families entire trip due to this. If you plan to board here, go check it out for yourself before scheduling anything. New Owners need to be ashamed of themselves."
"My puppy was boarded from 6/17-6/23. I was appalled with the way he looked when we picked him up. We didn’t even go inside to get him because the floors were being done but the smell was disgusting, even from the parking lot. Our dog and his bed also smelled terrible. He was so dirty and stinky that he had to be bathed multiple times. He has large sores covering his entire neck and red spots continuing down his chest. Both of his eyes are red and goopy and he has a bad cough. He is also extremely skinny, likely from not eating all week when he was boarded, but now he is t not eating at all even when given wet dog food"
"We’ve been using The Lucky Puppy off/on for about 5 years. They have gone through several transitions and closed for awhile due to the pandemic. The business is under NEW ownership and we just recently went back for daycare and a boarding visit on two separate occasions. They genuinely care for the dogs and I felt like mine was well taken care of while I was gone. While picking up, they offered a quick nail trim, no charge. I’m too nervous to cut his nails and they were getting long so I appreciated the offer very much! The owners are friendly and spoke about wanting to update the business and eventually make it their own. They care for rescue dogs as well. The pricing is comparable to other places but their location is extremely convenient for us. Right now they are offering some discounts for first time visits/boarding. If you’ve been to the Lucky Puppy in prior years past, please go back and give the new owners a chance to earn your business again!! We will definitely be back."
"The way that you were treated now at the lucky puppy club is much different than it used to be. Between the new employees and new policies, the service provided now extremely low. Picked up our puppy and they just let him run out from the back regardless of other dogs that might be in reception or people. Price changed without notice during our puppies stay but she said “ I’ll cut you a deal and only charge you the old price”. Rude, disrespectful girl named Brittany."
