"I’ve had an item missing here or there. There is always a pretty lengthy wait but i guess that’s comes with the convenience of not having to shop for your own groceries. My latest experience was just terrible. Placed an order Monday morning for afternoon pick up. My husband picked up the items because me and the kids are sick. We were missing all of our meat including 2 big packs of ground Chuck, bread and all of our deli items. I immediately call and speak with Alex in curbside explaining all of the missing items. He says he can process a refund or a redelivery. I request the redelivery and confirm it would be received today (Monday). I then callback 1 hour later and speak with Alex again and confirm our previous arrangements. He assures me i will get my items today. 11PM no groceries. I callback 7AM Tuesday morning to request a refund. Alex assures me (lies) he has issued a refund back to the card and it will take 3-5 business days. I figured he was just lying so i called back Wednesday morning spoke with a young lady in curbside who confirmed he did not issue a refund and we had to go back through my list and identify the items i did not receive so she could issue a refund. I got an email confirmation of the refund this time. What a pain in the butt this experience was. Don’t allow them to just put your groceries in your vehicle GET OUT AND CONFIRM YOU HAVE EVERYTHING. I will do my curbside orders in Sienna going forward."

"HEB has been one of my favorite grocery stores where shopping is made easier by finding the items location online first. But with the advent of curbside pickup it has been a joy to set up an order online for pickup the next day at a specified 30 minute time interval. On arrival it is easy to call the number on the pickup spot sign with the location of your car. Quicker than expected an associate will come to your window to verify you and your order, returning with groceries to load into your vehicle. Orders have been fulfilled very nicely and exactly with only one minor omission of note, a jalapeno pepper my wife needed for a recipe. The only problems are two areas. I once ordered two large HEB Coffee creamers only to find on use that the content was substandard from its usual taste. If HEB has any complaints it is that on occasion some HEB or Hill Country things change in quality or a bad batch finds its way to the store, e.g., crackers that are over cooked. They correct this in time, of course. For curbside pickup the problem during a pandemic is you do not want to take an item back inside to customer service for a refund of $7-8. The only other improvement I could suggest is that while HEB does have containers for recycling plastic bags a curbside pickup means you can't leave those bags unless you walk them to the entrance area (now even further away from curbside pickup). Employees do not take them at your car. Why not have a drive-by container? I love HEB and it is my second favorite store for grocery pickup and groceries I buy for availability, quality, and price. It is even within walking distance so its great for my health when I take a walk for minor items or a movie rental."
