"This place is solo run by the owner, and locally owned. This store has a great variety of animals, live fodder for your pets at really affordable prices. The owner has taken her passion for animal care and has created a wonderful environment for every single animal/reptile in the shop. You can tell that a great deal of care has been given to all the pets in the store. It was a pleasure to meet, and pick out a rabbit for my friend. Super knowledgeable and helpful I recommend any pet lovers who are looking for their first pet or just looking to expand their collection. Please support family owned and locally businesses!"

"Every time I have come into this store I have had nothing but a good experience. Now I'll admit most of what I get is feeders for my tarantula so generally I'm not exactly the highest paying customer. Still, the services provided on even something that small is unmatched compared to any other store I've ever been to where they treated grabbing a few feeders as an inconvenience. It is also nice to walk in and see all the animals happy and healthy and thriving. Sherwood Forest Feeders will continue to have my business for as long as they're open here in San Antonio. "How this place doesn’t have a consistent 5 star review is beyond me. The owners take perfect care of their reptiles and they are stored and provided with excellent care. Only someone who doesn’t know how to properly care for snakes would go on google and make comments about snakes living in breeding shelves with only heat, water and bedding (that’s literally why it’s own snakes, they are a minimum care reptile and only need what they need). This establishment goes above and beyond in regards to quality and safety of their animals. As a life long reptile owner/breeder the owners know exactly what they are doing and none of the animals are mistreated and are properly fed and taken care of. Don’t listen to the negative reviews of those that are not intelligent enough to properly understand what it takes to care for a such a large variety of animals. I highly recommend this shop."

"I ended up leaving my first visit to the shop left me very impressed. My usual feeder store is clear across town in Universal City, so finding out that this store was much closer is a blessing. Not only did they let me take my very tired corgi puppy inside so he didn't roast in the car, but they were very helpful in getting me feeders for my snakes and even asked of they had a color preference so they didn't refuse the food. They definitely care for the animals' well-being!"
