"We held my daughter's 7th birthday party at ASFD and it was so special and memorable! The instructors were patient and wonderful with the kids. They helped them learn to use a sewing machine and complete a full sewing project (sweet little wallet/purses) within the 2hr party timeframe. After the kids completed their projects they had a very fabulous runway show. The whole experience was easy, fun, and so unique. I highly recommend for any fashion/design enthusiasts."

"We walked by the school when my daughter was 7, and she made me go in and ask if she could sing up even though the poster clearly said 8 an older. She is now 12 and has been attending year round since then. She started with a summer camp and then moved to the Academy during the school year. The program starts with fashion illustration tied to some fashion history based on set of selected designers, and a theme. The first month they design an outfit, then they pattern, and finally they stitch it. They get more or less help based on their needs. The culmination is to model their creation in a fashion show hosted by the school. My daughter just loves the entire process, and the show gives it the right final touch. She attends on Saturdays for the whole 4 hours and complains when I have to pick her up early. Ilonka and her staff are really sweet and caring, making the school a second home for my kid. She still dreams of being a fashion designer. We are really lucky to have this school in Austin!"

"I took my first basic sewing classes there and it was amazing besides other classes they offer. The environment is super fun, the teachers are very helpful and cool. The sewing machines are in excellent condition. If you are looking for a fashion school I highly recommend ASFD"
