"When I went to this school I had a terrible time- there were so many favorites, it felt like I couldn’t breathe. We couldn’t be kids, if we were goofing around in the halls we’d get yelled at, if we changed out of uniform after school you could get scolded, I was scolded many times for wearing a headband that wasn’t flat- Most of the teachers were new and didn’t know how to properly explain concepts in ways that were varied so they’d just keep explaining it the same way. There were never any activities- and the ones we had were based in education, or they were only tailored to the students who were favored. There were so many rumors and a lot bullying going on that there wasn’t anything done about, I haven’t been in the school in a year and I can just say the mental issues it left me with is astonishing. The only things I looked forward to at school were my friends and teachers like Mr. Bralich. Girls were judge mental towards others, and nothing about it was pleasant. You’d feel isolated if you felt that university wasn’t the right fit for you. I could go on and on about this school, but I’ll just say, if you care at all about your child and their mental well-being and their education- don’t send them here"
"So! Thinking of joining this school? Well very much consider all the negative comments that you have read already.. they really hit the truth very well, unfortunately! I had high hopes for my daughter.. but slowly they all withered away, my daughter felt lots of pressure to excel drastically & you basically just fall behind.. get ready to play CATCH-UP on assignments! Basically you’ll have in your hands a mini college oriented-tired student that won’t have time for you at home doing her homework etc. You will get judged if you didn’t go to college as a parent I feel, since you do get asked when you sign them up to this school. Don’t flatter yourself if you got in, they just need the head count. Some teachers are good some not so much.. I told my daughter ask questions a 1,000x if you need to, don’t take simple answers or they’ll have to answer to me. I as a parent was probably not liked! If I complained or raised a concern cuz my child was missing say several assignments that went unnoticed well they (staff) along with the principle reverse psychology that “poop” to be your fault cuz you didn’t look on HAC but guess what teachers weren’t necessarily updating that either!! Get use to sending emails a bit of harassing is necessary to get the grade your child earned or for it to get updated..! You end up feeling hopeless judged & laughed at after addressing a concern cuz they walk away patting their backs & shushing you away & don’t care if your child is up doing homework till 2am in the morning. Principle only says “Hi” to some students not all, you’d think they wouldn’t be bias or judgmental you should be happy we are at your school. (Well not any more) Your daughter goes in happy & loving school & studious but will hate everything after a while.. “Events” good luck figuring out the dates times or how to join or even if your in for that matter it’s all trivial.. spirit week well we didn’t get the notice just some kids do.. Cold during the winter too bad, you can’t use your “regular clothing jacket” just the cheap hoodie & sweater uniform you bought used or new.. sometimes that’s not enough! No monitoring in the bus even though it holds different age groups getting loud might be annoying to kids that are mature in age it’s all one happy trip to your drop off zone! The idea of school “was” great but not experiencing it.. oh well bye 7th & 8th grade."
"This school is just not ok.the bathrooms that were for boys the girls have to use them. the new school is really old and i don't what they use the money for. the schools gym ceiling needs some work and overall the school just looks really unprofessional there so many middle schools that look amazing but this school look mehh.also this schoolwants to be perfect they force you to do a science project every year even if you don't want to and some teachers just don't care.and also too much hw like i get it's preparing you but it's a torture you can't do fun stuff it's all about homwork and studying and they also teach you stuff that won't even help you with the staar test."
"Okay I'm sorry but this school is just UGH. They don't care about the emotional/mental needs of each student and only seem to care about the money and score the students get. They seem to favor the Senior class, most likely trying to make sure they all graduate and go to college so it makes the school look good. Literally, they get a bunch of field trips and all sorts of things while the younger ones have to sit through a whole class of notes. No field trips, no college visits, nothing. There are some very good teachers here I must admit, Ms.Alonzo, Ms.Castaneda, Ms.Romero, Mr.Bralich, Ms.Ash and many others. I'm not hating on them. In fact a lot of them say that they dislike some of the assignments we're given but it has to be done. They don't even seem to consider that students learn differently. Not only that, they're required to go in earlier. On top of that, they give A LOT of assignments and very little time to complete them. I've also noticed the coaches really favor the kids in sports- Oh- Speaking of sports, there aren't as many sports options as other schools! Not only that, they don't have as many electives. For example, they don't have choir nor piano, unlike my old school. I mean, I enjoyed it during middle school, plus it got me ahead on credits and other stuff, but at what cost? My mental health? My emotional health? My passion for school itself. Like- my mother was able to graduate early- yet she didn't go to any special school. I love learning, but this school just makes it not fun. So that's why I'm transferring, I just hope it's the right choice. Before going here, ask yourself if this is for you. Have a good day!"
