"Wow. I thought I was going just as a work training to learn skills for facilitating a forest school, but I came home with practical life skills and a greater sense of self, awareness and purpose. I felt connected to my mentors Merilee and Britt and really value their insight."
"I took the two day Wilderness Survival 101 class with Dave, David and Charlie as instructors. I learned so much - a ton of practical skills like identifying native plants and plant medicine, making snares, friction fire, navigation tools, and they also gave us a general philosophy about the concept of survival in the wilderness and what frame of mind we can bring to different situations. The Executive Director, Dave, gave a really interesting talk about getting lost and how lost is a frame of mind vs an actual experience, and how adjusting the way we look at a given situation can have a huge impact on our ability to remain calm and in control. A lot of the material is applicable to other themes in life, like resilience. I felt really empowered and more connected with my environment and just appreciative of this beautiful earth we are so privileged to inhabit. I've recommended Earth Native to so many people and I'm excited to take some other classes. I can't recommend this experience enough. I feel like they should raise their prices for how much work goes into the sessions and how valuable it is to participants. Thanks again to the team at Earth Native for an unforgettable experience!"
"You never know when you might fine yourself stuck in a situation that may require basic survival skills. Which was why, Mom & I signed up for the two day Wilderness Survival 101 class. Dave S, Charlie, & David taught us different techniques on fire making, filter water, shelter building, & identifying edible plants that’s native to Texas. These basic techniques will help us stay alive when stuck in an emergency situation. Because English is a second language for Mom. All three instructors did a wonderful job communicating with Mom by explaining/demonstrating/ or gesturing on how to do etc... Thanks for being so understanding guys. We had a blast & look forward to taking future classes with you all at Earth Native Wilderness School."
"Dave, David, and Charlie are all super knowledgeable and great teachers. Wilderness Survival 101 class was so much fun. Be prepared to get your hands on making fire, building shelters, identifying native medicinal and edible plants, and so much more. Bathrooms are also top-notch."
"My son has attended Earth Native Weekly Nature school for 4 years (now called Wild Outside). It has been incredible experience for him, life-changing even. The staff are incredible. They have had such a postitive influence on him. He's more resilient, confident, courageous and mentally strong as a result of his time spent learning in Nature with these wonderful, kind people. He has learned so much about the world around him, it is astonishing. I feel like sending him to Earth Native is one of the best things I have ever done for my child."
