"My elementary school is so great, always clean and bright. I spent all 5 years here, and I still stay connected to many of my classmates and teachers. I rode by bike along the building materials before it was built, and shortly after I attended its inaugural year. The teachers always seemed enthusiastic, but the Art teachers and program in particular were always my favorite. The projects made all of the kids so excited, and kept the day fun. Even Gym was pretty exciting. Overall i’m happy with the education I received, and I love hearing about other young kids of people I know that will be attending this school."
"Great staff and amazing kids from all backgrounds are welcome here. They have amazing interaction and development with the kids and their families. Truly a great place of learning and committed teachers. I really appreciate the time allow for volunteers and parents here."
"We like the Patsy Sommer Elementary School. Teachers are good, staff is nice and friendly. Each year, number of kids have gone up, but school is doing it's best to keep up with the number of students. Standard of education is good, school has to follow the RRISD policies and teachers do a good job of that. Good diversity here, which is good reflection of the changing demography of our country. Good amount of clubs in the school, which provide many options to the kids!"
"My 2 years here I hated it. The teachers, Coaches, Music teacher, Art teacher, and Lunch Monitors were horrible. The ESL program was good, but one of the teachers there were so rude to the students. Also the students here need to learn how to respect others around them."
"The school tends to hire the most in-experienced and the most horrible teachers in Texas. The established teachers are good but every year a bunch of teachers quit and the replacements seem like they were interviewed by the principal in a drive- through setting. Have seen the same thing happening year after year even after the student count went down when a nearby school was built. The new principal is hardly impressive. The so called highly rated RR school district cannot even apply a uniform policy across all its schools and leaves a lot to the discretion of the principal. So far the principal's discretion has been un-impressive. Cant believe greatschools ranks this school as a 10!"
