"Dr. Rhodesia Lastrap is absolutely amazing! She is buy far the best Dr. I have ever had. I love that she “NEVER” rush you. She takes her time and answer any questions or concerns that you may have. She make sure that you understand whatever the issue is and give you the best possible options to resolve the issue. She really cares about her patients, you are not just an insurance card. If you have had those type doctors before then you know what I mean. Dr. Lastrap will not disappoint. Try her and you want regret it not one bit. I drive over 50 miles one way to see her and I will continue to with no hesitation."
"The receptionist and most of her staff is just ok.. slightly above decent. The nurse assistant Romelia is very ghetto, unprofessional and rude. As far as Dr. LaStrap, I feel she is an experienced doctor but she can be very rude if you don’t share her views. She also seems very bitter and easily agitated. Maybe it’s time for her to retire."
"I had an appointment with Dr. LaStrap last week for a well women exam, no problem with that but I have a huge fibroid that has been bothering me for some time now. Fast forward to now, I speak to the receptionist about another appointment for a sonogram, she transfers me to one of the nurses, which is fine, the nurse was really nice as she gathers info about what’s going on. Once she’s done, she transfers me back to the receptionist, I have to have another Pap smear, the initial one I had was inconclusive due to my being on my cycle at the time. I ask about appointments for another one, the receptionist says, “We have an open appointment at 8:20 tomorrow (Wednesday)”, I say “Do you have anything a little later than that?”. The receptionist then sighs like I’m an inconvenience to her and says “Dr. LaStrap is pretty booked tomorrow.” She takes a look at the schedule I guess and sets me up with the 10:20 AM appointment. We agree, say goodbye and hang up. The rude exchange just left a bad taste in my mouth, like I was the problem. No problems with the doctor or the nurse, but that receptionist needs to get rid of the attitude towards patients, we are naturally going to ask questions."
"I just had a HORRIBLE Experience to make an appointment. I am not sure if her nurses are inexperienced, new, or just flat out unprofessional. I called her office to have an annual, have a breast examination, and my hormones checked. I was originally given an appointment in May which was fine. Today I discovered I do not have an appointment...Very disappointing. After being left on hold, another nurse got on the line and was very combative, I am not going to go back and forth with ANYONE that I pay for services. I politely canceled my appointment and will take my business elsewhere. Dr. Lastrap delivered my niece 17 years ago but the unprofessionalism I experienced today left a VERY bad taste in my mouth..."
"I debated whether or not to leave a review but this has bothered me for months. The doctor is knowledgeable and great at her job but her bias shows. I am not a pregnant woman nor do I wish to be. I had an IUD placed and it was no problem being inserted. Not many questions at all. But when I decided to remove it… (two years after due to discomfort and just wanting this object out of my body) I had to answer multiple questions to both the nurse on staff and when that wasn’t sufficient the doctor prodded more. Fine, IF she was really concerned about me or her license and the new Roe v. Wade implications. But here’s the kicker.. I disclosed medical information regarding previous pregnancies.. and when I had the IUD removed after uncomfortable interrogation and multiple visits to have it removed.. she finally did and said “here goes your baby in the trash. I won’t tell if you don’t”. It didn’t set well with me. I tried to let it go, but I have paid the consequences emotionally and socially for my decision on top of two subsequent miscarriages. She had no business saying that to me. Again.. no problem and virtually no questions with insertion.. but she did not agree with me removing it and made it clear in an unprofessional manner. I re-lived my shame, guilt and more due to her not respecting patient/doctor boundaries. She is a good doctor and very knowledgeable but in my experience.. once the patient goes against her personal values it becomes a different situation in her office. Medical providers are supposed to be a safe place and this felt exactly the opposite."
