"Pretty much what we've all come to expect from small corner convenience stores, gas stations, and "bodegas" in lower income areas like Dutchtown in St Louis. Their prices are high (almost $3 for a 44oz fountain drink vs the common $1.69 at other stores), no listing of prices with items on the shelves which leaves you having to ask constantly if you're trying to maximize the little money you have to grab groceries, and the staff are not very friendly, difficult to understand with little attempt to be more clear and show irritation when I had to ask them multiple times to repeat themselves because I could not understand them. Finally, when their high prices caused me to have to put an item back, it was made clear with body language and facial expression that I was indeed the jerk when I said if need to put back a simple bomb pop frozen treat that apparently cost nearly $3 for a single one. 8 know that buying by the box at a larger grocery store costs less due to volume, but seriously, a box of 6 would cost $18 if I bought them individually here... To the owners: While the idea of a market close to home sounds great, paying high prices and made to feel like I'm somehow a lesser being and not that welcome in the store didn't earn you a good review and likely will lose you at least this customer. Pros: closer than the "full sized" local chain grocery store Cons: indifferent/annoyed staff, especially if their high prices and lack of pricing visibility (non existent mostly) cause you to have to change what you're buying at the register. Refrigeration systems seem to be warm. Owners might want to make sure coolers are at or below health dept requirements, and this means they're cooling the CONTENTS (products)to the required temperatures, not just the air in the coolers. I say this as a prior certified food and beverage manager from Serv-Safe, a Health Dept accepted food safety certification company. Suggestions: 1. treat customers a bit more like what they are, the reason your store will be in business for years to come if they stick around. 2. Keep prices within reason AND LIST THEM OPENLY WITH THE PRODUCT."
