"UPDATED REVIEW: I cannot say enough good things about the salon owner, Beth. She invited me into the salon for a complimentary haircut which speaks volumes to how she is as a business owner. I explained to her what I didn't like about my haircut and at no point did she make me feel bad or that my feelings about it weren't valid. I am so thankful and appreciative that Beth took the time to reach out and invited me back into the salon for another cut. I can say that I will definitely be back to see her for my next haircut. ________ I recently went to M & Co to get a curly haircut from Molly for the first time. When I sat in the chair I explained to Molly that I have never gotten a curly haircut and asked if she could educate me a bit on the process. The first thing she talked about were the products the salon sells and how great they are (first red flag to me). I told her that I am trying to embrace my wavy/curly hair but do like to wear it straight a few times a month. She instantly told me I shouldn't be doing that but then back peddled and reassured me that it will look fine straight. I wanted to trust the process but had a pit in my gut. I understand that curly haircuts are cut dry and per curl pattern. I was surprised that she didn't check her work to ensure any of the cut was even. When she was done, I could tell my hair had more product than I would put in. Still, trusting the process I decided to go home and style it how I would. I washed my hair immediately and after putting the curl product (that I bought from the salon) in and diffusing it, I could tell that one side was longer than the other. The next day I decided to wash and straighten my hair. I cannot begin to describe how uneven my haircut is and how the layering has left "gaps" at the end of my long layers. While I understand this was a cut for curly hair and it doesn't follow the exact process as a regular cut - I am beyond disappointed in my cut and overall experience with Molly. I have tried to allow myself time to adjust to this cut but am finding myself scheduling an appointment elsewhere to get it fixed. I did end up returning the products I purchased. Overall it was a waste of time, money, and a chunk of my self-esteem."
