"“Treated” myself and 3 daughters to facials, after Christmas. Only 1 of 4 had a pleasant experience. Towels smelled musty. Lucy criticized and berated my one daughter who suffers from acne. Poor girl left in tears. Her face was blotchy; nose was actually red & swollen for 2 days afterward. Other daughter did not get foot wash, massage of hands & feet or essential oil preference. Paid over $700 - EXTREME buyer’s remorse!!! I called repeatedly and emailed store manager, Angela, but NEVER received a response. Horrible and very costly disappointment. Do not waste your money."
"The staff at the front desk are incompetent and give coats and jackets left and right to whoever. Then they try to pin the fault on their customers. Ryan, one of the stylists does not do a very good job on haircuts. He mostly wastes good half hour for pulling and drying the hair than actually cutting it. I am not going back there. Very disappointed with the service and overall attitude of the people working in this place. Not worth wasting time and hopes for a good haircut and style."
"Normally these kind of scenarios wouldn't have been an issue had it been handled with the right communication but I feel like this does need to be shared. For anyone who doesn't want to risk a safety concern when giving ASHA staff their coats to be stored in their closet, definitely check that they've given you the right coat (just a heads up). I went to ASHA yesterday for a 3PM appointment with my mother and upon arriving, the reception staff asked if I wanted to leave them my coat. I did and they gave me two tickets with numbers to confirm which coats we dropped off for when I came back to receive them. My stylist Ryan took care of my mother and I between 3PM - 5PM and overall, the hair cut/style was a good experience that left a good impression until time came to collect the coats. He offered to retrieve the coats for me but as the receptionist was the one who handled the coats in the first place, I said I'd be more than fine with the receptionist getting the coats for me. I picked up the coats using the two tickets and received my mother's coat and a black puffer coat that resembled my coat that I brought in. I waited in front of the ASHA for fifteen or so minutes for my dad to pick us up and when returning home, I was getting ready for a dinner that I briefly discussed with Ryan as to the reason I was getting my hair done in the first place. ASHA called me an hour later and left a voicemail to advise that they gave me the wrong coat. I checked the coat that I had and they were correct, it was a black puffer coat that resembled my coat but it was not the coat I received. Not a problem until I called Ryan back to confirm that I was planning to come back to the salon to retrieve it. My mother was in the background asking if there was a way for me to retrieve my coat tomorrow and drop off their coat to them that morning as we were going to be an hour late with the traffic between Woodfield Mall and our destination. I insisted to my mother that I would retrieve the coat that night because I didn't want my coat to possibly end up lost if they had given my coat to another customer by accident. That being said, I overheard Ryan on the phone commenting on how he "did not appreciate what was being said in the background" and that it was my fault for rejecting his offer to give me the coats back instead of the receptionist. At this point, I was pretty stressed with trying to make my reservation on time and talking to Ryan on how we'll retrieve the coat immediately. What came out of it was that my parents were able to retrieve the coat in my stead. I asked them that night if they were able to receive the correct coat and they did. While ASHA's staff apologised to the woman for the mistake, they did not apologise to my parents. They did not accept responsibility for the mistake despite us following their coat system where we turn in our tickets to receive the correct coats. It was fortunate enough that I had nothing in the pockets of the coat but for anyone who gives their coat to ASHA's reception team, please either make sure that there is nothing in your coat/jacket pockets, double check that you've received your correct coat or even better, forgo leaving your coat with them and avoid an unpleasant experience like this. It's been a couple of years since I returned to ASHA since moving out of Illinois and it comes with disappointment that the first experience I receive from coming back is one that left a bad taste in my mouth. This could have been a severely worse outcome if someone did lose their property and to add insult to injury, the staff team and its stylist did not handle it with grace."
"Thank you so much Gigi! I’ve gone to her a couple times now and each time she is so sweet and does hair wonderfully. My hair came out so good and it looked just like the picture I showed her! I have a lot of hair so I feel bad for anyone who has to color my hair but she looks at it like it’s fun and she’s always so excited which makes me feel like I’m not a burden. Thank you Gigi!!"
"My friend took me here for a pedicure for my birthday. We booked two experienced techs. When we arrived for our appointments, evidently there was a last minute change and I had “fresh” talent (meaning someone less experienced) but I was okay with that thinking a pedicure is relatively simple after all. Well, the experience was less than great. There was no massage to speak of and it felt like it took a really long time (not with the services but rather with the sitting and waiting for the next step). As I was walking to the car, I realized how sloppy the job was. I had polish all over the skin of my toes, filing was uneven on my big toes (one was rounded and one was flat?) and the paint job in general looked really messy. She also didn’t paint the tips of the nail so it looked like the polish had already worn off. I called back and scheduled a re-polish to fix it. The second time I went, the gal who did the painting was much, much better. Really liked her. However, by the very next morning, both big toes had big chips in them where the polish had flaked off. The second polish job didn’t even last 18 hours. So, overall, especially for the considerable amount of money we spent on a simple pedicure (and one with no massage at that), it was a pretty frustrating experience. The staff is nice and the place was clean but I wouldn’t go here for nail services again unfortunately."
