"I agree with the other review in wishing a ZERO rating was possible.This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any contractor. Hi-Tek no-showed on Christmas Eve, causing me to assemble our swing set until 4:30 Christmas morning. After confirming the appointment via phone and follow-up text the week prior, John went radio silent, including not returning calls or texts on the day of the appointment. This was despite charging $200 more than he charged our neighbors for installation of the same swing set (which I was OK with given their willingness to assemble on Christmas Eve). After a full day of waiting and ultimately canceling Christmas Eve plans with family, he never even gave me the courtesy of a call to let me know there was a scheduling error (or whatever the cause was for the no-show). Do yourself a favor and find someone else to help with your project."

"Hi-Tek installed an in-ground basketball system at the end of 2013. Installers damaged the metal pole attached to the concrete base and then covered some of the damaged area with the padding that came with the set. The metal base rusted because of the damage and started to crack and break apart. I did not notice the damage until the unit had already rusted through and began to split apart. After contacting John at Hi-Tek regarding this issue, he stated that " rust is not covered under warranty & damages should have been reported within the 30-day warranty". I informed him the base would not have rusted if the installers had not damaged the pole and covered it up but received no help. I had to hire another company to remove the unit and have to wait until replacement parts arrive from the manufacturer and then hire someone again to reassemble the unit. ** I DO NOT RECOMMEND HI-TEK ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATIONS. ** Update - The top of the metal pole which had a plastic cover to keep water out was missing & not installed which I noticed when the whole unit was taken down for repair/replacement. It led to severe rust and corrosion due to improper installation. If I could give them a ZERO RATING I would."
