Paul Willems: Allstate Insurance

"I was with Allstate for 3 years. Each time my yearly policy was renewed, they upped my rate around $100. The first time, they called me to ask if I wanted to renew, obviously I said yes. Then they informed me of the increased rate. When I asked the representative why they were raising my rate, she didn’t have a real answer. She literally told me, no exaggeration, “Uh… Because of the economy.” This is after COVID, and they’re clearly still using it as an excuse to take advantage of their clients. The second time they renewed my policy, they didn’t even call me to ask nor was I informed of ANOTHER rate increase. I didn’t receive an email, call, text, nothing. They just went ahead and renewed it without any consultation on my end. With this second rate increase, they were trying to charge me nearly $350 a month for my 12 year old used Nissan. I decided to go ahead and cancel because quite frankly, I can’t afford it “because of the economy.” I called Allstate January 5th 2024 to cancel my policy. I spoke with Victoria. When asked if I had new insurance yet, I said no, and she chuckled. Little did she know I was setting up new insurance the next day, but she insisted in a judgmental tone. End of January comes and I am charged by Allstate. She never cancelled my policy. So I had to reach out to Allstate’s customer care line where I actually received help. It’s seems to me they were hoping I wouldn’t notice for a period of time so they could continue charging me, and then say I wouldn’t be eligible for a refund because I’ve been insured for x amount of time by them. I do not recommend Allstate. Their tactics are predatory. “You’re in Good Hands,” is a blatant lie."

"I was asked to leave a survey about my experience with Allstate. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the rates doubling for just liability. I was then left a voice-mail from Paul explaining in a rude and condescending manner that the rates are out of his control and that he doesn't appreciate the 0 rating and he feels they have provided excellent service. I then received a rude email with him typing in caps that they do NOT do the pricing. I then received an email asking me to consider revising the review. If he would have explained the survey process nicely Iwould have. Since I reviewed the bullying email and voice-mail I'll stick with the 0 rating. Canceling my policy after years ."

Paul and his staff were so friendly and easy to talk to that we not only took out a homeowners policy but we moved our car insurance there too.We have filed one auto claim for hail damage and it took exactly a week from the day our claim was filed until our auto was ready to pick up at the body shop."
