"Brought our car in to replace alternator. Was charged over $500 for repair and the part failed a week later. Was told to bring car back if it dies again. After the second time he says he will charge $120/hr just to take a look. There's an excellent chance the alternator never needed to be replaced, as other mechanics had said that wasn't the issue. If a mechanic diagnoses that as the problem and charges for something , stand behind your work. On top of all that, "Billy" had a terrible attitude and made condescending remarks on the telephone. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this clown. Now I'm being told by another mechanic it's likely a bad fuel pump. At this point I'm not taking Billy's word it's a bad alternator. That was his diagnosis and I sincerely doubt there are multiple issues relating to the car dying..as it died in the same manner everytime. Either way 110 hr is far too steep as most charge in the 80-90 range and locate the problem before charging. Most alternators are like 80 bucks especially a used one which he installed and takes s mechanic roughly an hour time so go figure the $463.. Furthermore a rude attitude is no way to treat a paying customer"
