Customers can also use gift cards to pay for their purchases at Family Dollar. The 19-digit gift card number, located above the magnetic strip on the back of the card, can be entered during checkout. If the gift card has a 4-digit PIN, it must also be entered for verification. If the purchase exceeds the funds on the gift card, an additional form of payment can be used to complete the transaction.
