"Purchased a low mileage vehicle from Bolt. Powertrain malfunction light came on within 50 miles of leaving the dealership and the car was in limp mode. After a service station pulled the codes, four different shops told me my best option was to scrap the car for $200. I reached out to Bolt with no response and ended up finding a mechanic willing to fix the car. In the end, it cost me over $6000 to keep the vehicle out of the salvage yard. Dealer is a nice guy but was not a good choice for someone on a budget."

"Very good initial first impressions, awful results. Some of this is my fault, I was in desperate need of a cheap car and I really didn’t need anything special, so I only gave it one quick little test drive before driving it and really didn’t inspect it close enough. The car I bought for $3,000 was a salvaged, almost 20 year old vehicle, and it is a certified lemon. I bought this thing back in September and it’s just been problem after problem. The first issue I noticed was during my first night drive. There was no light coming from one of my headlights, which initially didn’t seem like a big deal. Headlights burn out all the time, they cheap and easy to replace. But upon closer inspection, not only were there no bulbs on the right front headlight installed, the sockets and wiring were also missing. Which made this a much more frustrating issue. I eventually get that fixed and then the front bumper starts falling off. Another thing I had to fix. Then the battery died, and I had to replace it, which wasn’t a big deal. But then, the alternator started going bad. So I had to replace that. Now that is all fairly stuff common when dealing with old used cars. But the real kicker was when I was driving down the busiest street in town and the right front tire just falls off out of nowhere. No warning save for a rumbling noise about ten seconds prior. The mechanic said the rotor was extremely worn and eventually gave way. He also said the break pads were very close to wearing out too. After getting all this fixed I thought that I might have a bar that was in drivable condition for at least a little while, but now it seems my transmission is going bad. There is no way this vehicle is worth what I paid for it, and that’s partially on me for taking the offer and properly inspecting it. I did some research and if I tried to sell this vehicle to any kind of dealership, the most I’d be able to is $50 to $100. Which I’d say is a fair price for this death trap. The other four reviews here seem to be fairly positive, and Richard the owner and manager of the place seemed to be a really nice and helpful guy. This could be a fluke for all I know, but I may have also just put my trust in a typical used car salesman"
