Hi-Mart (Housewares/Appliances and NSF Listed Restaurant Supplies)

"It's a grocery store as well as appliance warehouse. Joong Boo, baby! Absolutely fantastic selection. Prices are pretty good too. Less crowded than the 3333 n kimball location. It's hard to see from pulaski but it's right next to restaurant depot and the cemetery."

"New Hi-Mart/Joong Boo Grocery. No hot foods. Be sure to turn all the way into the alley to get here. (They have signs but it's hard to see from a distance) Google still lists this as Hi-Mart Housewares. And they have some, but the focus now is groceries. (I believe they're trying to relocate the Kimball store here, if their lease is expiring.) It's an odd spot behind Restaurant Depot. But plenty of parking. Pretty good grocery selection. Square footage-wise, larger than Kimball. Big snack aisles. Huge ramen selection with good prices. I like how they have promotions. (Got a free KN95 mask recently) Near the entrance, they have a nice selection of packaged side dishes/soups. I know people like the mandu and of course, the hot foods-- on Kimball. With the potential space, the neighborhood could benefit from a similar setup. Finally, a way to avoid Kimball parking madness. There really hasn't been much option for far north siders, besides the dinky little shop on Bryn Mawr. For those travelling from north suburbs or staying north city, this store is going to be a savior, to avoid traffic getting to the old JB."

"Comparable to the H-Mart in Niles, smaller seafood and produce selection but housewares engrande! Kind of a treasure hunt to get to it as it is tucked away hidden in the backwoods. Good thing since there appears to be not a lot of parking space if it ever gets crowded on the weekends."

"I stop by here on my way to the suburbs to browse around at the housewares. Location is easy to find, plenty of parking and well stocked. My only problem is since the employees are bored (which I understand since the foot traffic is rather low compared to their parent company, Joong Boo) so they will talk your ear off and keep asking if you need assistance or anything even if you continuously tell them no thanks."
