"It was hard deciding between 3 or 4 stars but the truth is, you kind of know what you’re getting into. I will say some listings are just plain what the heck was someone thinking?! For example, I bought a vacuum listed as new but it was totally used. Perhaps someone closed up the box it came in and returned what should have been a new vacuum but was really their old vacuum. It was my first time on the site and I did not look at the pictures so I do recommend doing that- although it doesn’t always help bc I also bought a fan listed as new but some of the parts were broken and the fan had to be thrown out. I have, however, been able to redecorate my house without spending too much money. A Shark robotic vacuum cleaner that actually works. It does look like it had been used by the hair attached to the bottom but everything else was clean and no scratches. Multiple wall art pieces that are beautiful. A great clothes drying rack. A new pot that is super expensive but was only like $10. A cat litter box without the lid but for $4 , I really don’t care. And new Ashley furniture dining room chairs. I personally try to avoid bidding more than $20 on an item so as to avoid any hurt feelings if something is not up to par, but my dining chairs did cost a bit more so while a gamble, it turned out alright. I’d suggest sticking to lower priced items and bidding amounts you won’t be upset about if they aren’t described accurately or not the item you thought you were bidding on. I also wouldn’t spend money on like an air mattress (that I personally want to buy) that would really upset me if it was used or not in good shoe/usable."
"I bid on a compact automatic washer and in the box was a bedside potty. The photo shows the washer and a plastic bag which I thought was the hose and stuff. Called them and they told me that they wouldn't give me my 50.00 back as the bedside potty is in the photo. The description clearly says washer nothing about this bedside potty. This company needs to be held accountable for what they are selling. I will attach a photo. DON'T SHOP HERE. This company is a bate and switch company."
"I purchased a few items from them, and I was very happy with all my purchases, except one. I made sure to read the descriptions for the items I was bidding on, and made sure to look at all the pictures. All of the items I bid on were said to be in “new/other” condition. But when I checked one of the items I had won, it was disgusting. It had definitely been used, and it was extremely dirty. I contacted support, told them the situation, asked for a partial refund, and they didn't seem to care. They basically said I was “aware” of what I was bidding on, when in fact, I was not. As I mentioned, I was under the impression the item was in “new” condition just like the rest of my purchases. Their support team also said I should have looked at all the pictures. I did look at all the pictures before bidding. None of the pictures for the item listing showed the inside of the item in its box, so how that does make sense? In the email I got from support, they also stated I should’ve examined my items before leaving, but I highly doubt that would have made a difference. I wouldn’t have cared if it was used, and I would’ve still purchased it, but I wouldn’t have bid $375 on that item knowing the condition it was in. I don’t know who is in charge of listing items, and posting the pictures, but they need to really examine their inventory before listing it and make sure to add the correct descriptions so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I am disappointed. This is not okay."
"The owner(s) / management take no pride in this business. It’s quite disappointing to witness an established company still operating like a startup. I have been a customer since they began on Earl. I have spent thousands of dollars on their auctions, up to a year or so ago. My most recent purchase was a firm reminder - why I stopped dealing with this place. The item was listed as “New/Other”. It clearly had been used, and literally did not even take but a few seconds after opening to see that parts were missing (ALL OF THEM!). It doesn’t take a trained eye to see that this item should have been listed as USED. The listings on this platform are incredibly deceiving. I’ve purchased many items that were described as New/other”, but when I received them, they were far from it. It is evident that the individual(s) tasked with rating the items are either: (1) intentionally exaggerating them for sales or (2) rating them off of photos that too are of extremely poor quality because what is stated typically does not match the actual condition of the item. In addition to this, every listing has one of the following generic statements under Auction notes: “Tested and Works, Untested, Powers On” or “See photos for what’s included”. If this doesn’t scream, “We are too lazy to actually do our job, but if you’re dumb enough to bid!” The lack of accuracy and transparency in their listings leave me feeling frustrated and misled. Furthermore, the customer support is delayed and the responses are unsatisfactory. It felt like the company was struggling with the organization skills necessary to handle customers efficiently, further reinforcing the startup-like experience. I would caution potential buyers to be extra cautious when dealing with this platform, as the accuracy of their listings is questionable, and their customer support leaves much to be desired."
"First time buying from Slibuy, I purchased a ice cube maker & air purifier. The ice cube maker was absolutely filthy, doesn't make ice cubes at all, doesn't work. It was in a completely different box as the product. The air purifier doesn't turn on at all, doesn't work. They were both listed as new/other. I work hard for my money, not to get ripped off."
