"They made my security deposit almost $2000, I paid, finished my lease. Was told "expect it in the mail 30-60 days after you move out." I didn't have a new address to give them, but when I finally did, I called for a solid 2 weeks straight trying to give them my new address, and was always forwarded to voice-mail. When I did get a hold of someone, I was told again, don't worry about it, just wait till mid November. I gave her my address, and that was it. Every time I would call after that, the manager would not be available to speak to. And I wanted to ask him about my refund because it was almost 30 days and i didnt get a notification. I called again almost a week later, he wasn't there AGAIN, but then the worker was like "oh no, the person who took your address down didn't put your unit number." I was livid. I gave her my info again, she said she would leave a note for the manager to call me monday..... he never called. Not Monday. Not Tuesday. Not Wednesday. I had to call them again Thursday. I finally get a manager, and he informs me that my address was, AGAIN, not in the system. I give it a THIRD time. And then he tells me. "Okay, check will be in the mail 30-60 days." I said "what? I moved October 16, it's already almost 30 days." This dude says "No, 30 to 60 days AFTER YOU UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS!!!!!!!!!!" WHO THE HELL IS RUNNING THIS PLACE!!! I need my refund NOW!! If I miss my payment for a week, I'm getting eviction notices. This is wrongful business practices. Do NOT move here, they pretend to care until you sign that lease, then you're nothing to them. Not to mention the numerous times my truck was broken into by homeless people, the endless hordes of cockroaches, the constant wasps buzzing the balconies, the other tenants who can't control their dogs and they escape and attack your wife while she's walking our dog. Or If you like having you noise complaints ignored, or having no where to park, or almost stepping on used, exposed needles in the stairways, or just like the fact that your neighbor is literally wrestling and fighting a guy in his apartment who he was just screaming at from the balcony just moments before at 1am on a Thursday night, then don't let me stop you *UPDATE* It's now JANUARY 8TH, 2024, and I still have not received my refund check. I have left several voice-mails, not a single call back. I've even called during business hours. So I'm gonna call one more time. My contract states that my refund is to be returned 30 days after I vacate, it's now been almost 90 days. If I can't get my money today, I will go to the Austin Tenants Council for you illegally withholding MY money *ANOTHER UPDATE* JAN 25, 2024 Was told that my check was sent to the wrong address. Despite the fact I had to call three separate times in November to check if they had my correct address because they messed it up the first time, it still ended up being entered wrong. They said they sent it December 8th, so why did they wait until January 25th to tell me it was sent to the wrong place? This place is only digging itself a bigger hole. I served them my demand letter on January 23rd, and now I have to take then to claims court. Stay tuned for further updates"
"Another update . They hired a new maintenance who lives under us. He banged on our door demanding we stay quiet or he will kick us out. His name is Andy. When I opened the door he stared at me in my boxers and started recording my child and I in our own home. Someone please help. We are here in the office demanding answer but they are more worried about attending the vendors than the molester under our apartment. Maintenance on top of their game. New management really made the place look nice and got on top of repair requests. Repair folks were very kind and informative. UPDATE MONTHS LATER Nope! Dishwasher they installed months ago never worked or turned on was told I will get on in a few days. Nothing came till months later. They just left a new dishwasher boxed without installing or taking care of the leak. The painted over moldy walls are molding again and breaking apart. Because the dishwasher isn’t working water has been backing up for over months into the tile which they still will not address . My kid has torn his foot on the broken tile just trying to watch his dad cook. Had to buy an expensive dehumidifier to clean the moldy mildew air out that maintenance still hasn’t fixed . All while the ignorant manager claimed “ oh I am a mother myself , and washing your baby’s bottles in the bathtub is definitely not how we hold our standards here at cannon oaks” . Now my kids re breathing mildew air while the office avoids answering any phone calls for the past three weeks . Oh and this huge box with a new dishwasher in it has been left in my hall way for 28 days now ."
"I would not live here. Management has changed multiple times and it never got better. When I first moved in, they didn't have my unit ready (wasn't clean) so they made us sleep in the model (EW). When we did move in, all of our pipes were backed up! The sink filled up with water (wouldn't drain) and so did the dishwasher! There was water filled up in the dishwasher and sink along with the past units dirty food! (EW). The garbage disposal wouldn't work. The dishwasher also leaked out onto the floor. I kept putting maintenance requests in and they never fixed it. All my emails were ignored. I literally had to have my friend come and fix it for us! We also had german roaches everywhere when we moved in! We went a month without having them give us our trash can to use for the valet trash. Then in January, our upstairs neighbor had a leak and it leaked all into our bathroom. There was rust stains on our ceiling and ruined our shower curtains. The rust stains also came down into our bath/shower and of course I had to clean it. This also left a black stain from the water dripping onto the wall. I tried to scrub it off as best as I could but they never came to clean any of this or get the black stain off the wall (hope it wasn't mold....) THEN... we had a running toilet for SIX months straight that was causing our sewer bill to sky rocket. We put in requests, emails, phone calls, and even went into the office multiple times and they would tell us they aren't getting to us because they only had one maintenance man available ..... like what?? hire more. Then, management changed. The new management deleted all of our maintenance requests so we went in to tell them our toilet has still been running for six months and charging us fees. A month went by and it still wasn't fixed so I called the code department on this complex. I should've a long time ago! Then it was finally fixed. I asked for refunds on my sewer bill and they never refunded me. I moved out and they were trying to charge me extra so we went up there and told them we had a running toilet for 6 months and shouldn't be charged extra and they removed the extra charge but never refunded us for the other months. DO NOT STAY HERE."
"I have been living in this house for 1 year. Rest assured, you will want to leave here after a year of living here. Now the administration has changed, but every month new shields come, which we allegedly did not pay when we moved in here. When we moved, we paid $1,550 for the first and last month of life here + $400 deposit. But now we have been told that we will have to pay for the last month because they themselves decided that the deposit was $1,950. And it can't be fixed. We lost the money we wanted to invest in new housing."
"The complex has recently undergone a very necessary management change. Greystar is making it a point to address complaints & maintenance requests other managers have put off. There have been many new upgrades to the property and the units are being updated as well. The new pool is a nice addition, but it is one of only a few accessible amenities on the property. Hopefully, they will update the gates as they usually remain open. If you are considering moving to this complex, it is important to keep in mind the noise level since it’s located next to a busy street. Luiz from the front office was incredibly helpful and easy to work with while we addressed a few issues I was having with my apartment. Overall, the office staff is very friendly and willing to work with you when it comes to complaints."
