"I am living with roaches EVERY DAY. Two months have passed and 7 fumigations have been done (2 in full), but the roaches are still alive and kicking. The leasing office assures us that they care but they don't really understand what living with roaches means while your husband had an amputation surgery and he is trying to heal his wound surrounded by roaches. This is an UNSANITARY ENVIRONMENT that could affect our health. To make it worse, my dogs have diarrhea (we paid $300 to the vet to treat them). Roaches are climbing their bowls. Furthermore, one of our dogs was wounded by a bullet ricochet and he is healing with roaches to his side. I'm cleaning my apartment as much as I can but the next second I cleaned, roaches are walking over the countertops, sink, cabinets, and even in my refrigerator. The leasing office is asking us to be patient. Would you be patient in these circumstances? They also offered us to transfer IF we pay a new deposit. My husband is not working due to the surgery. He's in recovery. He is not getting paid so we can't afford a new deposit even if they say they will refund the old one. They won't. Also, neighbors leave trash bags in the aisle all the time so the odor is unbearable and disgusting. I guess roaches are happily living here but the Grove at Wilcrest’s tenants just have to bear with them. We already made a written complaint with the Houston Apartment Association and called the Health Department. Don't come to live at Grove at Wilcrest unless you want some filthy “roommates” who won't pay rent!"
"I’m going to do my best to leave a fair review because I have mixed feelings about this community so bear with me and I hope this is informative for you! Location & apartment complex: 7/10 the location is PRIME. Close to city center, not a far drive from the heights, downtown and other popular areas in Houston. I’ve lived in two different floor plans and both were spacious and a good price. The apartment complex its self is well kept and they recently did updates on the exteriors for a refreshed look but the grounds were loaded with dog poop. Not the fault of the complex that falls more on lazy residents. Amenities: 6/10 amenities such as pool and gym weren’t anything super special. Never had issues with the gym or equipment but pools 1&2 were always filthy during the summer. Again not the fault of complex, fault of residents who didn’t care to pick up after themselves. Maintenance would always clean it up first thing on Monday but it was frustrating over the weekend to try and relax and the spaces were filthy. Valet Trash & Fetch delivery: I actually really liked the valet trash, never had any issues and they always came around the same time. Speaking of garbage, Fetch Delivery service is hot garbage. They make you pay $20 a month whether or not you want to use this service to send your packages to a third party warehouse where your packages are being kept in poor conditions and flung around or eventually lost. I know this because I’ve had to do pick ups all the way in SUGARLAND for my items since they will say “out for delivery” for two consecutive days yet they don’t come or misplace my package. This alone would never make me want to sign a lease at any community that tries to push fetch on you. Imagine paying monthly for Amazon Prime and then on top of this Fetch service which SLOWS down the process you’re originally paying for? Staff & Management: 7/10 Alex & Vanessa are great! We actually signed our lease there because of Alex, he truly cares and is a great person and neighbor! I also really loved Carl and Randi when they were here. Haley was also very nice but anytime you wanted to express an issue, she would do this tactic where she gives you a compliment to try and diffuse down the issue you have. I immediately took notice anytime I came down to discuss an issue and found it condescending. Overall staff is professional and kind but are limited due to being a small team. Security: Negative -10/10 this is where I would have to score the LOWEST. While living there, we were victims of theft, TWICE. It’s a constant issue at The Grove and management would send out generic “crime happens anywhere” emails but not actually do anything about it to improve their security and procedures. The security company hired is always sleeping on the job and doesn’t patrol. Gate was also always broken. Cars are constantly having tires stolen, broken into or straight up stolen entirely from the parking garage and The Grove is just like “well it is what it is…” we always had anxiety walking to the parking garage hoping our vehicle was ok… There is also no security cameras inside the complex hallways so I strongly recommend getting a ring camera for your door because yes there have been apartment break ins as well. Residents- 2/10 As time went by during our second renewal we noticed more and more rude, unruly and uncaring residents move in. The community used to be a quiet and calm place to live in but on the weekends it turns into a party complex. LOUD music on the balconies, poolside, throw up in the elevators, hallways and the constant smell of drugs and trash up and down the hallways was nauseating. Of course this is not in the control of the complex of knowing everyone’s living habits prior to leasing, but they definitely don’t send violations to repeat offenders as they wouldn’t keep repeating it! If you’re looking for peace and quiet, it is peaceful during the week but on the weekends it turns into a party complex. Overall, The Grove is a decent spot but there’s lots of room for needed improvement."
"Few weeks ago I had tour The Grove at Wilcrest and was helped by Vanessa and Alex. Was very impressed with the friendliness and knowledge they both shared. The property is well kept and quiet. The apartment that I saw was in great condition. Some of the residents waiting in the office shared some of the great experiences they have living there. Love the spacious fitness center and they have 3 pools. Very convenient to have easy access to the Beltway and I-10. Would highly recommend it!"
"I recently moved to the Grove at Wilcrest from West Texas and signed the lease without seeing the property… best decision I’ve ever made! I initially worked with Alex, and he got me set up and ready to move in a unit within a day. He was so easy to work with and has amazing customer service. When it was time for me to move in, Alex was on vacation, so I worked with Vanessa. She is so kind and answered all of my questions and made the process so easy for me. Thank you Alex and Vanessa for helping me find my new home, you deserve 10 stars!! I also want to comment on my unit and the complex in general. My unit was so clean when I moved in, it felt like no one had ever even lived here before me. The complex is beautiful and has the best amenities I’ve seen at this price point. The location is perfect, and I’ve felt very safe living here so far. I’m so happy I chose the Grove at Wilcrest!"
