"After being sat at the wrong table, then waiting over an hour for our meal, we received the worst meal I think I ever had, and I'm 58 year's old. Nothing but rushed cold slop. The way you see the picture is the way we left the food leaving to go to a different restaurant. OWNER, please don't don't under this review to contact you to correct, I have already turned down your comp meal on this slop, and we have already turned down your gift card for this slop. We are grandparents from the other side of the State taking our grandkids out to dinner. Thank you for making our evening horrible sending us all out the door upset and hungry."

"Conveniently located, with a wide-ranging menu, and a well appointed bar, the Barrel House is well worth a visit. Our servers were very competent and the food did not disappoint. The beer menu had some fine craft varieties to pair with the usual popular offerings. The rest rooms are modern and were well attended despite the large crowd. We have visited a few times prior and will most certainly be back to see them again."

"Was really looking forward to our visit. If all the restaurants in Dubuque, Barrel house stood out, mostly cause we were looking forward to the lobster dip. We ordered it immediately with our drinks. Shortly later our dinner order were taken, only to be served dinner prior to our appetizer we were anticipating. The server was more focused sitting and chatting with her friends than getting out order correct. Maybe my expectations were too high for a college town."

"Our waiter was an awesome, the menu has a lot of spicy items on it but very good portions. The picture of my Cali avo spinach wrap is only a half. The spinach dip was very creamy. The bathrooms were not very clean and had cracked tiles but overall I would go there again."
