"The apartment is nice, lobby is always kept clean, staff are friendly, but the fire alarm problem is like something I've never seen before. At least every 2-3 months, the fire alarm will go off here for a busted pipe, some type of tampering, or unknown causes. I could understand it during the freezing temperatures but it's been a steady problem since last summer. Thinking real hard about lease renewal. Most of the time when the alarms wake you up at night, there is also no email or text giving any type of all clear or reassurance that the building is safe. For a nearly $2K a month 1 bedroom apartment, I expect much better than service that appears to be delivered on a bare shoe string budget. My last place wasn't near as nice and the communication was an A+. Here, it's more like a D- on a good day. Windsor, I see you have other apartments in the Plano area that do not have the same complaints. I suggest you figure out what's going on here."
"I wanted to take a moment to talk about how awesome Jose, our Maintenance Leader, has been since he took over. Before, it used to take a really long time for them to fix my work orders. But now, they take care of them on the same day or the next day. Jose is really professional and friendly, and he genuinely wants to build a good relationship with everyone. That says a lot about him as a person. Also, the staff is really nice and quick to respond, and the new manager gets things done efficiently. I definitely recommend living here. Thanks Windsor Team!"
"Giving this review for maintenance & Alexsia (Property manager) We had a leak due to the storm this passed week. Maintenance was on it as soon as the leak happened. They were mindful of trying to clean up during repairs and even after. We have a 1 year old so we really appreciated that. We have had some issues with leasing agents but Alexsia always goes above and beyond to try and meet our needs and make sure we are happy residents. Not sure what his name is but he seems like the head of maintenance he made sure our air filter was changed (without asking) as well as noticed we had a damage on our wall plate and replaced that also without us needing to ask. He definitely goes above and beyond in his work and attention to detail which is much appreciated. Overall we are very pleased on how this situation was handled on both of their ends and our during our stay here at Windsor."
"To say leasing at Windsor properties has been a disappointment would be an understatement. I can’t discourage anyone enough from leasing here and strongly recommend checking out other apartments in the area. I don’t enjoy giving a negative review, especially since the front staff and maintenance are nice, but I know I would have appreciated reading a review like this when looking at apartments. Please save your money and find a better home to live at for 12 months. Upon moving into my apartment, I had several issues from the get go. The kitchen was disgusting with a rotten smell coming from the kitchen sink, a dark mold also around the rim of the sink, and then the bathroom shower facet needed to be replace because - again - some weird growth was around it. The molding along the base of the apartment was peeling off and needed repairs, and in general was just dirty from the previous tenant. I obviously was not expecting the place to be deep cleaned by the complex, but to not have some of these basic things fixed upon move in was very disappointing. Took about a month to get everything fixed and I had to pay two maid services to get the apartment livable. Unless you plan on being on the top floor apartment, you will unfortunately hear your neighbors upstairs. And I mean hear your neighbors walking to the bathroom, opening a dresser, and even full on conversations. Luckily, I’ve been able to communicate with my upstairs neighbor about some of my issues and she put in a rug which has helped immensely. But please know the walls are very thin for both upstairs neighbors and neighbors you live near too. Why I decided to leave a review today was due to a water leak in my apartment. The complex was going through system check to ensure there wouldn’t be a pipe burst because of the incoming freeze. I had been out for most of the day and came home to a section of the dry wall torn out, as they found a water leak and needed to repair it. I’d also like to note that my patio door was completely unlocked and slightly open I am grateful that the staff had reacted to the leak quickly but there was no note, and only a voicemail saying to call the front desk back to talk about “what happened” and then a very brief two sentence email stating I had a water leak with no next steps on when this would be repaired. I left for a work trip the next day and called them during the next business day to get a better picture of what is going on (again I am reaching out) and had shared that next time that they come in to make sure my patio door was at least locked and closed. I came home today to yet again another water leak and another dry wall section torn out. Dirty everywhere from Maintenance coming in and out, my entire living room a little mini construction zone and just dirt everywhere… and the patio door notlocked and open. I have no true ETA on when this will get fixed and I am just supposed to live like this for the next few days (?). The best the front desk can do is just smile and say so sorry while you are laying close to $2k a month to live in this “luxury apartment.” and to go to a hotel under your renters insurance. For the amount of money I am paying to live here, the quality is poor at best. The hallways regularly have trash sitting outside (despite paying a premium for valet trash pick up), fire alarms going off regularly in the middle of the day, garage gate issues where the garage door won’t open, and now this. I completely understand that a lot of this is outside of the properties control (weather, how residents behave, etc.), but severally of these issues is just a reflection of poor management and maintenance of the property over the years. If the best the front staff can do I just say I am sorry, go get a hotel under your renters insurance…just disappointing. I would have wanted to read a review like this before signing an apartment lease, especially with the rates they are charging. I would not recommend living at Windsor Preston or any Windsor property."
"This place is really locked down tight! Also the building is a little creepy if you live on the lower floors. The corridors are long and slightly dark with no windows. Very much so back rooms vibes. I enjoyed it, but I know some of ya'll probably won't. Also the fact that it was triangle shaped makes it extremely weird to walk around, and very easy to get turned around"
