"I have lived here for 2 years and have loved every day of it. The staff is very helpful and take care of their residents just like they do family. I would recommend taking a look at this community.."
"Terrible Experience at Tides on Oakland Hills I cannot express enough how dissatisfied I am with my experience at Tides on Oakland Hills. From the moment we moved in, it has been a nightmare. Firstly, the leasing agent promised us a concession on our rent, only to have it completely forgotten after they left. We were left without a proper lease agreement, facing the possibility of being evicted due to their negligence. Then, we were instructed not to set up utilities, as they would be billed through the apartment. Three months later, we received an exorbitant bill filled with fees for not transferring the utilities – despite being explicitly told not to do so. To add insult to injury, our shower fell apart on New Year’s Day, causing significant water damage and rendering it unusable for three weeks. Despite this, we were denied any refund for the overcharged water bill during this period. Additionally, a bullet hole mysteriously appeared in my truck's tailgate while parked in the complex lot, with management offering no assistance or resolution. The noise levels from neighbors, both guests and residents, are unbearable, making peaceful living impossible. Despite complaints, no action has been taken to address this ongoing issue. While I appreciate the efforts of some individuals in the office and maintenance team, the overall management and handling of these situations have been abysmal. It's absurd that we still do not have consistent hot water and continue to receive outrageously high utility bills for services we do not even use. In summary, my experience at Tides on Oakland Hills has been nothing short of a nightmare. I strongly advise anyone considering renting here to look elsewhere for a more competent and reliable living environment."
"(Update a week or 2 later after this original post: I still have not received a call or update about them trying to continue to charge me. Also, I still haven't received the security deposit check back either. ) The management here is terrible. I lived here up until the end of August this year. They're STILL trying to get me to pay rent. Even after filling out the necessary documents to officially end my lease as well as turning in keys. Even after talking to someone a week ago that I'm no longer living there. They said they'd call me back and never did. I even tried calling them, but they never answered their phones. Not only that, but they never fix any of their mailboxes and don't do anything if people steal your stuff. The pictures I have attached are of when my apartment got broken into. All they did to fix it was screw the pieces back onto the frame. I do NOT recommend anyone live here."
"I didn’t even get a chance to walk through the front doors of the leasing office and I already give this place zero stars. I got to my appointment an hour early in which the return time on the door said 2 o’clock when my appointment was at 1:30. I didn’t plan on going in, but noticed that no one was in there from the time that I arrived. I waited until it passed 130 and the maintenance guy was able to open the door and contact the front desk lady who was outside smoking a cigarette. She rudely came up to me and asked me what I wanted and what I was there for because there was nothing available for me to tour. I told her that I had set up an appointment and had two confirmation texts an emails showing that I had an appointment for 130 that day. she proceeded to be extremely rude and tell me she didn’t know how that was possible. She also told me that she doesn’t know how I was able to schedule an appointment because she just transferred from Oklahoma a week ago and she doesn’t know how to use the system or check if a tour was scheduled. I let her know I had taken the day off and drove from an hour away and she replied with the fact the currently has the flu and that she shouldn’t even be there either. Keep in mind we’re 6inches from one another. Without even inviting me in and with her blocking the doorway I let her know that I wasn’t sure I even wanted to tour anymore, and she slammed the door in my face. I was very excited about having an opportunity to tour this apartment complex and completely turned off because of how rude the person who apparently works the front desk was to me and how apparently she has no idea how to work or be professional. So happy that I was able to avoid the disaster that possibly would’ve been me moving into this apartment complex and spending my money for a year to live here. zero stars Keep in mind I drove from an hour away and asked off of work to be there. To not be able to to your job is a reason to not be working there. I’ve had many different jobs and have worked in the hospitality industry for over 12 years and even on my bad days I was never as rude to someone as that woman just was to me. Hopefully it doesn’t take her another week to learn how to communicate with people applying and setting up tours so that they can spend 1000’s of their hard earned dollars to live somewhere where the people at the leasing office treat you like trash."
"It’s not all bad, the times I have needed things fixed, they came right away. I personally only have seen 1 roach in a 6 month period. I was good until I needed to address an issue with the manager and she has always tried to handle complaints. I have a lovely older 2 bedroom and I truly love how spacious it is. The landscaping in my area is a little rough. The apartments do need a lot of work, but I am seeing a lot of improvement. I believe they are working on many areas but the PREDATORY TOWING MUST STOP!!! It has been a problem here."
