"I first moved into these apartments September of 21' my apartment was brand new never lived in. It was a blessing and still a blessing from the Lord. The longer I have live here the more ghetto it gets with the people that move in and have no honor or integrity for their neighbors or keeping this community safe and clean. Management is always kind and respectful but it seems they pick and choose what they want to deal with. They are not consistent they do not deal with things in a timely manner or even at all most of the time my complaints and concerns are ignored and nothing is done about 80% of the time. Because of this poor management the apartments have become extremely ghetto and no one adheres to their lease which causes it to be miserable for other tenants whom have respect and common sense of how to be a good neighbor. This is a Non- smoking community and smoking is supposed to be completely prohibited from the entire property. Everyone signs this in their lease knowing the rules. I see ( smell ) pot on a daily basis now. I see a lotof people smoking pot like it's completely okay to do it in the hallways and just casually walking to the cars with blunts through the parking lot. I have a constant issue with smelling cigarette smoke and the butts of all the things thrown all by my front entrance and the wind almost always carries it by my apartment door. I feel like I avoid the hassle of utilizing the pool because the anxiety it gives me not knowing what to expect. Most always there are people smoking oil pens, cigarettes or pot in the pool area. Calling the patrol officer is completely pointless. They are talking really loud about explicit, vulgar, disgusting things and or listening to music that is absolutely inappropriate for a shared area and an apartment complex pool. I always respectfully, communicate that this behavior is not appropriate and not allowed per the pool rules and regulations of this complex, but I either get cussed out or ignored, causing me to have to leave to protect my son from the wickedness of their choices. Residents leave trash everywhere, hallways and parking lots. My hallway is always gross with trash being left out when it shouldn't be. I have some neighbors that don't leave their trash by their door and put it across the hall for days before it gets picked up. Trash gets out and blown down the hallway every day it's literally like this. I've seen it cleaned maybe five times in the last 12 months. It used to be cleaned about three times a month."
"I haven't lived in an apartment for over 30 years, and during that time, I've heard countless rumors and frightening stories about apartment living. However, since I moved to Holston, I haven't experienced a single nightmare or encountered any issues. It's wonderfully peaceful, and I genuinely appreciate the friendly residents, the helpful staff, and the excellent location."
"IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU MOVE HERE! TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE. No matter what the prices are here it is not worth moving here! There are bugs, roaches ect. in the Apartments. THIS PROPERTY IS GHETTO. They DO NOT maintain the stairs of the property - you will fight bugs everyday trying to get into your home. I moved out of this place and did not renew my lease. On top of that Management has HORRIBLE communication. Regina and her Team are terrible communicators. They will tell you one thing and then boom a balance is due? I am baffled by the level of customer service I received while staying at the Holston. I’m so glad I have support in Texas to help me with this experience. If they try to play with you get a Lawyer and record or have documentation of ALL conversations you have with the people that work there! I asked Regina the “Property Manager” if there was anything else anything I should be aware of at the time we discussed my last month rent at The Holston. She said no. Now I’m receiving emails from her that I have a balance due?!!! She said I won’t receive my deposit?! Why?! There’s absolutely NO damage to my apartment. She won’t communicate what balance is due she is telling me to contact another Grey star email address. For what?!! Aren’t YOU the manager. It’s just weird. And I am not paying anything else. I do not have any balance due. Refund me my deposit Regina Bivins."
"We do not recommend this apartment complex at all. We moved in May 30 of this year to a 3 bedroom apartment in the first floor and when we got there first the check in process was not smooth as they did not have our remotes ready. We only got 1 and were told to come back for the other one later. We walked in to the apartment and wow it was so dirty and nasty. The apartment was surfaces cleaned but not DEEP cleaned! There was stains everywhere, dirt, nasty air vents, kitchen sink sprayed everywhere, master fan didn’t work, insects inside lights, fridge was disgusting, toilet seats nasty, vinyl floors chipped, kitchen caulking ugly etc. We stayed up till 2 am cleaning and had to take multiple trips to Walmart and spent money on cleaning supplies. We told front desk and he said maintenance should of done it but when maintenance showed up to fix some of the stuff not all they just blamed cleaning crew… on top of everything the people upstairs were so noisy and made a lot of excessive noise until 1 am. We went in to talk to front desk 6 days after being in the apartment and were told we had to wait for the lady who took care of this and she was on vacation till Monday. So when we went back we were told there is a 30 day money back guarantee so that was the only good thing about this. Gym was always dirty and with roaches! Pool was also never cleaned often at all and hallways outside apartment doors had horrible stains and needs to be power washed asap! Again do not recommend these apartments!!"
"After applying, and paying $450.00 to gain residency at the Holston in October 2020, I was only given keys and not even a tour until May 1 which is the day I signed my lease. And all that time I had not known any of the things that I should’ve known like I would need to switch electric companies, I would also begin to pay water, and also valet trash with an mandatory $50 monthly fee! All of this is on top of the monthly rent. These things weren’t communicated via any of the leasing agents. On May 1 I came to sign my lease and was directed to sit in the clubhouse by myself with the paperwork/lease and sign where I seen exes and look for him Wayne if I had any questions. Because I was so in a hurry to get into my apartment and begin making ways for my children to be comfortable in a new area I signed it and looked for him afterwards. Later after I had signed my lease and was moved in I noticed numbers on the ground these numbers I guess war for paid parking nothing was communicated to me or any of the residents or my next-door neighbors it is a very very tricky place to live they take your money and aren’t honest buyer beware do not move here!! The management team minus Brittany is dishonest, never on time and very unprofessional. In my experiences here they have hidden fees and the parking is a HUGE issue, that isn’t properly protected, I live here and my registered license plate car was towed and I have to figure out how my single parent no income can afford to get my paid for vehicle out of tow. I have left several messages and left two voice mails for the agents boss Mrs. Aaron whom all work for Greystar management to have not to date gotten ANY response. AGAIN DON’T MOVE IN HERE!! at least not until they get new management. Don’t waste your time you’ll be trapped I have a friend whom was also planning to move here when I did and later decided she didn’t want to sign up to be lied to, she still hasn’t gotten back her refundable deposit! Don’t move here! Greystar CAN’T know this is whom they are hiring to run their new apartment complex, I’ve been told from other current Greystar residents at other properties that this is an UNACCEPTABLE characterization of one of Greystar managed properties! I am looking into to my rights as a resident here and what to do if they have been violated. Don’t trust THIS staff outside of the secretary Brittany She’s been a peach since starting and has been very helpful with limits due to her bosses. She could possibly turn around the course of The Holston’s and give it back it’s integrity. After they changed leasing office employees, I can honestly say The Holston apartments have improved in management!! They have on call 24 hour maintenance. They always answer my calls and every or any issue that has come up had been resolved without any thing more than placing a discrepancy online thought their cafe site. Very happy to be here now!!"
