"3.5☆ Beautiful place. Decor is great, a posh throwback perhaps to 100 years ago. In fact, it's been about 25 years since I was last here. Meets my high standards: white table clothes, heavy silverware, and impeccibly mannered waitstaff with peppermill and "decrumbinator." Arrived early and was still seated without much wait for a 6pm, though right next to a party of four rather than with a table in-between. The exceedingly polite staff moves smoothly and deftly thru the bussling and almost narrow passageways. Initially they were attentive. And being a steak place, I already new what I wanted and ordered my standard: old fashion, ceasar, filet, potato, coffee, dessert. Portion size are large, but apparently normally sized for most people, who lately seem abnormally large with matching appetites. Since it had been awhile since my last visit, I sat thru the blah blah blah overview and asked menu questions and ordered. Bread arrived quickly and was warm and delicious. Salads were large and fresh and very enjoyable. The potato was very good as well. Unfortunately this was probably the worst steak I've had for quite some time. I ordered it medium, which to me means pink. But it arrived clearly medium-rare with a touch of pink outside and a wide, deep red core. Blood began to ooze onto the plate. I attempted it happily despite this and experienced a dental-floss like string across my tounge several times. Seriously, an incorrectly cooked, stringy $60 small filet mignon at what I had hoped to be Houston best steak place? I was very dissappointed. And either out of a predesigned courtesy to allow us to eat in peace, or some kind of service cliff that occurs nightly at 6:30 pm, we did not see our waiter again for maybe 30 minutes. Dessert, creme brulee, was good; far too big for sure and way too much cream. Also, on the whole, there's too much blah blah blahing about what a great restaurant you've come to, and I guess I had had enough by the time our waiter began with the "vanilla beans flown-in from Madagascar to make..." zzz. Valet, because parking is TIGHT. Gets loud. So, not sure if either me or the restaurant will still be here in 25 years, but check back I guess."

"We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. We felt everyone treated us very good and felt special on our special day! They all went above and beyond with the service. Last year we had a mishap, but we decided to come back because last time they provided us with great service and the food was delicious. This time it was even better. Douglas made sure our food was (allergy) safe for me to eat. Everything we had was delicious! This time we had crab soup, Australian lobster tail, creamed spinach and green beans. The cheesecake and cocktail drinks were also excellent in taste. Thank you Douglas and everyone who made our night the best! We will most likely make this place our anniversary place. We 100 percent recommend Pappas Bros Steakhouse."

"Fantastic over the top experience. A5 waygu special was a perfect celebratory appetizer. My wife's espresso martini was the best she has ever had. Our steaks were perfect and desserts were some of the best we have ever had. This is at the same level as Keen's in NYC or The Precinct in Cincinnati. 10/10."
