"I ordered General Tso’s chicken with friend rice and both were delicious! The rice could use a little extra pizazz (there were no peas or carrots in mine) but the chicken was amazing, broccoli had a nice crunch. Contrary to other negative reviews (give me a break people), I had a great experience ordering from here on a busy Friday night and the food was ready right on time. I saw a review mention that the portions aren’t large enough. Photo attached for reference, you can easily make 2-3 meals from 1 order. And for less than $15, that’s great value these days."
"Title: A Disastrous Dining Experience at Howard Wang's I was left utterly appalled and disappointed after my recent visit to Howard Wang's. I had heard mixed reviews about the place, but decided to give it a go. However, I regret to say, my experience was far from satisfactory. To start with, the value for money was a complete letdown. I spent a whopping $75 to feed a group of four and was shocked at the small portions we received. The restaurant seems to have a rather unscrupulous practice of skimping on their rice servings. Despite ordering a fried rice meal, the rice came in two tiny containers, distinctly less than what one would expect with each order. This was an absolute cheat and a clear departure from the norm of other restaurants. Additionally, there was an issue with the number of egg rolls we received. I had ordered multiple egg rolls, but to my surprise, I received only one. When you're paying a premium for food, the least you can expect is for your order to be correct. The quality of the food was equally disappointing. From the fried chicken to the veggies, everything was swimming in an unappetizing pool of water at the bottom of each tray. This completely ruined the texture of the food, making everything soggy and mushy, a far cry from the crisp, 'fried' dishes we had anticipated. The overall experience at Howard Wang's was nothing short of a culinary nightmare. I strongly advise against eating here until there are significant improvements in the way they handle their food and treat their customers. The misleading information, poor portion sizes, and substandard food quality are a recipe for disaster. I sincerely hope that the ownership and management take this feedback to heart and make necessary changes. As it stands, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and if they continue on this path, I fear they may have to consider closing their doors for good."
"Love the fact that it it’s close by since I live in Trinity Groves. Very underwhelmed by the overload of vegetables and minimal steak. It’s almost close to being a vegetarian dish… I ordered pepper steak. cute little ghost kitchen – nice atmosphere, and the staff were pleasant."
"I’ve never had more bland, disgusting and unappealing food in my life. Dumplings were mixed meat (pork) which I did not select. Mongolian beef was flavorless. Green onions were 80% of the dish, the meat didn’t even resemble an edible animal. Noodles on the bottom looked like something you’d find in your kitchen’s garbage disposal- 4 days after washing off left overs from Panda Express. Rice was bland. No seasoning. Egg stale. It was probably old enough to hatch. I wouldn’t even feed this to a starving dog."
"Ordered from this place via UberEats on a Tuesday afternoon around 11:15 AM, right when they open. Order arrived around 12:30 PM. All items arrived correctly, according to order. Vanilla Prawns with Glazed Walnuts with Fried Rice - I’ve always know this dish as Walnut Shrimp. Walnut - Pleasantly flavored. Not burnt. Not overcooked. Traditionally flavored. Shrimp - soggy, but I suspect these were better when they were fresh probably better when eaten at the actual restaurant. Flavor is good and traditional. Mildly sweet. Fried rice - Very smoky & very very salty. Could use some vegetables like peas and carrots. Not bland though. The sweet, walnut shrimp dish pairs, very well with the overly salty fried rice. I would recommend these two dishes together. Udon Noodles with BBQ Pork - Udon Noodles - green beans are cooked well still slightly crispy and not over cooked as with the carrots. You don’t texture is also cooked well not over cooked, still slightly, springing in the middle. BBQ Pork - surprisingly decent flavor actually very traditional. Overall flavor of this dish is quite mild compared to the other ones. Not terrible, but would not recommend this one. Chow Fun, regular, beef - I believe they missed the order notes on this one since I found many chili peppers in this dish despite me ordering regular. I don’t know where they get their chow fun noodles because they are very very wide; ~ 2 inches wide, perhaps they make it in-house. This dish came extremely watery. I don’t know what it was sitting in - perhaps a ton of oil, perhaps a ton of water or sauce. Green beans or nicely cooked - still crunchy, but bland. This dish had too much char in it, perhaps a dirty wok - I think they were going for a wok hei flavor, but it just taste burnt. Dumplings (6) pork, pan seared - Also soggy. There doesn’t appear to be much sear at all - maybe a few minutes on one side, and then quickly taken off the pan. Flavor is average. Sauce is average. Wonton soup - Two wontons in the cup. Texture of the won ton is absolutely disgusting - like toilet paper in water, it falls apart in powder once you touch it. It doesn’t have at all, the springiness of a won ton skin in soup. I’m not really sure why they put edamame in here - it makes the flavor all weird. It would’ve been better off just putting cabbage alone and cutting it slightly larger. This dish was a huge disappointment. I would definitely not recommend this. Ended up throwing this one away. Overall, some of these dishes were hit and miss. I will definitely go back for the walnut shrimp aka Vanilla Prawns with Glazed Walnuts. Their cooking times appear to be good on the noodles. Many flavors do appear to be more traditional however, some are very bizarre. I don’t think I would recommend this place, overall. However, I might try this place again in several months."
