The Resort at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels

"We stayed here on a whim when we went to New Braunsfels for the night thinking that the word "resort" was literal. IT WAS NOT. This place is like a rundown motel. The rooms are small and basic- although the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Nothing about this place is a resort. Even though we went off season (Feb 17th) we were placed in a room that is next to railroad tracks. ALL NIGHT LONG TRAINS RUN. Be ware if booking (I booked directly w the hotel, so shocked they wouldn't have mentioned this or offered another option further from the tracks as the occupancy that night was maybe 10%) to check location to the tracks. Awful experience. Would not recommend even w the close proximity to the water park."

"Love this place. Every winter we take a trip and always stay here due to the low price and it's not crowded in the off season. They only thing that needs improving is the cookware. The pans need to be replaced because the food sticks. Other than that it's great"

"Great find! We stayed here because we got a good rate online, but were surprised at how much we enjoyed our peaceful visit here. Kinda like staying at a ski resort in summer, the water park part was closed, so it was lightly occupied and quiet and restful. The employees were helpful and polite. Deer were our neighbors most mornings throughout the property. Quick drive to Greune Hall and downtown New Braunfels. Free laundry machine use was nice as well."

"It says it has river access in the description but when we checked in ,the person in the front said it doesn't. The restroom is small and don't have any hooks to hang your clothes. Very inconvenient. I didn't book with them directly but when I paid for my room it didn't specify there's an additional $11 for resort fee. Mainly for the swimming pools . It's October plus I checked in after 6pm. I only used the room to sleep. The person decided not to charge me the additional amount."

"An awesome water park for all ages. A lot of activities to do and places to explore, even though it is compacted. Make sure to make reservations since this place can get really full. Fun waterslides that can be either thrilling or tranquil. It's good to get the season pass for water park benefits."
