Holiday Inn Resort South Padre Island- On The Beach

"The hotel overall is fine. Restaurant is very good. Beds and linens are nice. The towels are like sandpaper and you can hardly get the bathroom door closed in toilet/shower room. The pools are in need of a update and a hot tub would be great. The rooms would be amazing if you could open a window, we are on the beach an ocean breeze seems appropriate that is a flaw. Overall is a fair property but needs updating."

"It was ok. Just that. Nothing great, nothing too bad, just some irritants. The first floor ice maker didn't work the full four days. Our room would intermittently not lock when we closed it. The "on demand" hot water system resulted in a lot of wasted time waiting for hot water. Our king sized bed room only had one nightstand. The toilet rocked when you sat down on it. Plugs not conveniently located. Smart TV didn't stream. Like I said, it was fine. The staff was friendly. The place was clean. Just not great. Location on the beach is the redeeming factor. And the Seaside Bar behind it."

"Great hotel with beach access. Room was clean and comfy as was the rest of the place. Loved the heated pool (or the swim up bar to be honest! Lol) Best part was the staff. In particular was Mr. Robert, one of the bartenders. He was beyond terrific offering ideas on things to see and do as well as suggestions on where to eat. An outstanding human and excellent representative of the resort. Ms. Nancy, the hostess in the dining room, also offered outstanding service. Her smile got the day started off right and she was friendly, engaging and attentive!!! You just can't go wrong staying here when on the island!!!"

"Upon arrival I thought I had reserved a beach view room. Apparently I didn't I was with 3 of my family members. My cousin mentioned that I have cancer. With in 2 minutes the manager had up upgraded us to adjoining beach view rooms. The staff is fantastic. The amenities are wonderful. Yes it's a older hotel but very well maintained. Room's are very clean and spacious. I would highly recommend this place."

"The ocean view room we stayed in had a damp carpet and smelled stuffy. The bathroom door didn't close properly as well. The hot water went out and I had enough. I reported the issue and the staff quickly offered a room with pool side view. The pool side view room is had no damp carpet and the bathroom door closed properly. It also smells good. If I could rewind time I would choose a pool side view room."
