La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Amarillo Mid-City

"Not updated. Needs a deep clean and some fresh bathroom fixtures. Tons of sediment built up. Appears to be original tub toilet and sink etc from late 70s or 80s. Room reeked of smoke. Let the front office know and they did offer a new room but was not confident in another room and we were there for only one night. No bugs seen at all. Upstairs neighbors loud and running up and down external stairs till 2am. Definitely very different from other La Quinta Inns we have stayed in across the country. Staff were friendly."

"I give 4 stars overall instead of 5 only because the couch/sofa bed and chair in our suite living area need some deep cleaning TLC or replacing. The gentleman working in the evening and the lady working the breakfast bar were both very nice. The price and location are great. My family was very satisfied and plan to book again on our next trip."

"Staff was completely friendly and outgoing. Very welcoming and cheerful. The room was very clean, smelled fresh and had a great view. We asked about attractions and they informed us about things near by. This was the best hotel experience we have ever experienced. Please let them know they did above and beyond in customer service. We will ONLY be using this hotel when he off through for travels. Thank you for the great experience."

"Eh it was somewhere to rest and had a few breakfast options but the bed smelled like perfume and the floors were dirty as well. Positives: They are pet friendly which is necessary for our two dogs. Easy check-in. We called for a reservation a few hours before we arrived. The lady on the phone seemed to be new but she did pretty well especially being late at night. They had Texas waffles, eggs and sausage along with bagels, muffins and cereal options. Negatives: The room was dirty! When going to a hotel, the room should be clean at the very least. There was hair everywhere when we got there and one bed smelled like perfume. Nothing seemed clean. We came late so we just dealt with it so we could get some sleep. I assume they would have given us another room if we asked but it seems to be an issue at this hotel according to others reviews as well. The conjoining room (that we didn't use) didn't have a bottom seal so sound and light came though. For the price it was an okay place to stay I read the other reviews claiming their rooms were dirty but decided to roll the dice anyway. In our case, we did not get a clean room. Maybe you will be more lucky but it is definitely not the cleanest place to stay."

"They are pet friendly, and you get your deposit back in the morning when you check out. They serve coffee and a small breakfast (cereal and milk) in the morning. I'm pretty sure they are remodeling or doing a lot of work on the place so the pool is closed and a lot of the rooms are not accesible or being used. Overall, it was a good visit during our travels."
