Pet Wants Clarksville Retail Store in Highlander Point Shopping Center

"This post is way overdue! Stay with me here! Our baby dog has had stomach and intestinal issues for 2-3 years (on and off). However, while taking her to the vet -- it was only a bandaid cure! Because her problems became worse and more frequent, so much so that I visited PET WANTS to learn if they could offer appropriate food and treats for our baby. Upon my arrival, I realized I was in the right place...the owner came up to me introducing herself, and asked how she could help me. I asked her if she had an hour! Her words, of course, I do; that's why I am here - to do whatever I can do to help! She took me on a tour of her store - which was wonderful - I learned so much about dog food and treats. I had no idea I was so naive and ignorant about dog food(s) - the components within. She introduced me to food that would be best for Maggie now that she understood more about her health issues that the time (stomach and intestinal). I went by the plan Kris put in place, and it didn't take long to see tremendous improvement! Maggie was a picky, picky eater. Now, she knocks me down to get to her food. Maggie is alive today because of the willing help and care I received from Kris. She cares about animals and people...in that order, I believe. However, a couple of months ago, Maggie was diagnosed with Copper Storage Disease (the unknown problem for 2-3 years)...I had no idea what that was until now. In consulting with Kris, she suggested I call Karla Haas (owner) of Rudy Greens to ask if she could manufacture a custom food regimen for Maggie (with zero to no copper). Again, the same outstanding care; Karla met with me at Pet Wants and discussed our options. I was sold,...I hugged both of them (okay...so I cried too), because this whole experience has been such an emotional roller coaster ride - you feel helpless, not knowing how you can help. It just took forever to put a name on her illness. The story here is that between Kris & Karla -- my baby is doing so much better now...eating every day...her intestines are active (daily), and she is playing like a puppy again @ 12 years old. Let's be clear...I have had Maggie on several different types of medication from the Vet. However, to no avail...just more vet visits and more medication. Kris is my Hero and now a dear friend! Also, Maggie is a little princess -- she has a personal chef, Chef Karla! In closing, the most important outcome for Kris was Maggie's health...it had nothing to do with her making a profit. Tell me, how often do we find a business owner that cares so much, that they put the health of your pet over profits. Thank you, Kris...because of you and the introduction to Karla, I have a much healthier baby now! You both have saved her life, and I don't take that lightly! Forever grateful!"

Our animals can’t wait to check out what’s in our paper bags from the store when we get home. We will be lifelong customers!"

"If I could give this store more than 5 stars, I would! We went to Pet Wants Clarksville for our youngest rescue dog’s Gotcha Day. We took both of our dogs there to pick out time stuff to celebrate. They LOVED everything the store had to offer. We ended up getting cookies, lean dog food, lean cat food, Rudy Greens Doggie Cuisine, a toy, calming chews, and most importantly lots of love from the owners. We felt like family when we went there. We will go back for all our cats and dogs needs and wants! Thank you!"
