"Dr. Ford is an esteemed psychologist. His caring, warm, and humorous personality allows him to work with clients that struggle with vulnerability or have been unwilling to share with therapists in the past. I have referred friends of mine to Dr. Ford and have seen them benefit greatly. I am very thankful that I can refer to him at any time. He does fantastic work and does a wonderful job treating depression, in particular."
"I worked with Dr. McCurry for 2.5 years and very highly recommend him. He is a great clinician - empathetic, dependable, insightful, and cultivates a safe, calm environment. He was able to hold space for what I was going through and helped me feel capable of doing the hard work to better understand my emotions and past experiences to grow as an individual."
"My son has been working with Dr. McCurry for a little over a year now and the changes we’ve seen in him have been remarkable. He arrived to his first session very withdrawn, resistant and sat in the waiting room balled up with his hoody pulled over his face. Dr. McCurry was not the least concerned and reassured me he would do fine as it takes a while for teens to open up. And sure enough, after only a few sessions my son went from initially hating the whole idea of therapy to then to asking when his next session would be, which then he shyly admitting that he liked it. Fast forward to now, and he’s in many ways a completely different kid. Dr. McCurry early on recognized key focal points (such as ownership of home responsibilities, learning new skills and other opportunities where he could build much needed confidence). Gradually his inward growth began to ripple out into other areas in his life, including better relationships (especially towards his younger brother) and learning how to understand and regulate his anger. The boy who once wore only black clothes, threatened I’d have to drag him to his first appointment and often cried angry tears at the very thought of mandatory therapy has now transformed (over the course of just a year), into an almost unrecognizable young man whose confidence and demeanor have blossomed into outstanding qualities of character. With the encouraging support from Dr. McCurry, he has not only stepped up to the challenge of freshman at Trinity, but it has brought about the structure and independence he so desperately needed; something Dr. McCurry saw lacking from the very beginning. I never would have imagined that in such a short time his maturity would develop to the level it’s at now. Or that I’d see him wake up early for school, enjoy the daily process of tying his tie— taking pride in his appearance, show excitement towards school for the first time, and to see how self-sufficient he is when it comes to completing homework on time, monitoring his own grades (and always striving for 100%, even though that’s not something we require at home, but rather excellency through one’s best efforts), and being responsible for his chores, communicating directly with his teachers and more , - all without having to be asked. And what’s more, therapy has become a huge highlight in his life. He looks forward to it so much so than many times he can barely contain his excitement to talk with Dr. McCurry, and he often jumps up and waves when he comes out to greet time, and then immediately begins talking even before they get to his office! Everyone has witnessed these changes, and I can’t say enough how filled with gratitude my heart is. I firmly believe that he met Dr. McCurry at just the fright time in life, and through his unwavering help, has in many ways saved his life. My family and I cannot recommend Dr. McCurry enough!! His calm, kind and non-judging spirit has been a perfect fit for my son. We are also beyond grateful for the outstanding role model he’s found in him, and for all the ways he listens and cares. Dr. McCurry’s gentle approach is laid back, noninvasive, compassionate and even lighthearted. He holds space for him to talk about whatever is on his mind. He’s also met with myself and fiancé, and keeps us updated with appropriate feedback so that we can offer ongoing support to my son at home. All in all we feel that D. McCurry has a I invaluable gift for working with teens. And it’s my belief that he has the innate ability to connect with and guide teens if all ages, and probably adults too! :) Definitely give him a try, I highly doubt you’ll be disappointed. :)"
