"You have a woman working the window on the 6th floor to check you in for your appointment. She goes above and beyond her job to make you feel comfortable and less anxious about being there. She is very good at talking with you, answering any questions you have and remembering your name without having to give your birthdate. She might be young and just starting out but she is very good at customer service. Her name is Isabella."
"As a psychology student at UofL I believed UofL psychiatry would my best option for medication management. The first time I scheduled to make an appointment Tamika Sherley, seems to do the first-appointment scheduling, at this office and was incredibly rude. I’ve been seeing a psychiatrist for the past 7 years and I’ve never had someone who is supposed to be a healthcare professional talk to me this way. She was demeaning and acted like I was stupid for trying to see another doctor about the medication I’m currently taking. She said “we ain’t the type of place to do second opinions”. Even though I had been referred by another physician for this exact reason. I felt so uncomfortable after my conversation with her that I called back the next day to cancel the appointment. I was put on the phone with the same person and when I was asked why I wanted to cancel I said it was because “it wasn’t the typical office to do a second opinion” basically that I didn’t feel welcomed and Tamika instantly started arguing with me about what she had said the day before. She then hung up on me mid-sentence and when I called back to get her name and the name of her supervisor she said that I was rude to her and hung up on me again after refusing to give me the name of her supervisor. I had greater hopes for this institution, but they have nothing but children working the front desk. Especially considering this is a psychiatric facility for people that are dealing with a wide range of mental health issues from suicide to depression and anxiety this is truly sad. And I hope no one else has to deal with this when trying to seek support."
"This facility is extremely rude, disrespectful and actually argumentative with people calling for services. I am the parent of someone that called this office to make an appt. She was referred by her physician which her physician will hear of her experience as well. There are many other places in Louisville to seek services. Tameka Sherley who answers the phone and Tina Beard the office manager have absolutely no business working in the healthcare industry."
"During a time of nothing but suicidal thoughts, the staff gladly discharged me without any care. I pleaded with them through tears just to be told I did it to myself. Very helpful thing to hear! I proceeded to fail all my classes and was stuck in a depression with no one to talk to for months, so that was really fun. I genuinely wish I never met any of these people. Set me back months."
"Obviously, I cannot speak for the people that left these low reviews. I have been seeing Dr Ben for years after being in the hospital on life-support with septic shock. when I got home, I began to have panic attacks and deep, dark depression. I suffered memory loss along with other cognitive issues. He is very knowledgeable as a neurologist and a psychiatrist and has helped me tremendously and continues to help myself and my family. As for me, I would not trust anyone else! He is actually one of the very few doctors that I do trust. Very personable and down to earth. The staff have always been kind to me. So don’t let these low reviews. Keep you from seeking help. Period."
