"A few years ago, I had a coworker that I would regularly chide for taking long lunches. One day he told me that he was going boxing on his lunch break and he invited me to join him some time. I should mention that I am NOT a “gym guy”… never have been, never will be. I had never considered boxing, but I was intrigued by the idea. How hard could it be to punch things? Might even be a good stress reliever. I decided to give it a go. After driving past HITS Fitness a few times and never having the courage to go in, I finally did. The cardio was tough, the rounds seemed to never end, my arms hurt, and I found myself cutting almost every warm-up and core session short to keep from vomiting and/or dying…. but I stuck with it. I went twice a week for several weeks and then pushed it to an unheard of three times a week. After exhausting every new member discount I could find to avoiding becoming a member, I finally decided to join. My wife thought I was crazy and told me that I would never stick with it. I did not say it at the time, but in my heart I agreed with her. However, I hoped that by committed real money to the journey, when my body or schedule said "NO", the pain in my wallet would say "GO". It worked and I quickly became a “regular” at HITS. Despite being absolutely exhausted at the end of a class, I found myself constantly trying to figure out when I could go back to take another one. I took friends along with me and met so many amazing new ones there. Boxing became a passion and “punch lunch” became a fixture on my work calendar every week. That one small decision years ago has had a huge impact on my life. It is also to recognize and thank HITS Fitness for playing such a pivotal role in my fitness journey. It is a journey that will last the rest of my life. I could not be more thankful for everyone at HITS Fitness that have played, and continues to play a part in that journey!"
