La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Austin Near the Domain

"My experience with LA QUINTA hotels began last Christmas vacation when I stayed at La Quinta by Wyndham Altoona Des Moines while passing through Iowa from Illinois. I gave this hotel a five-star review due to its kindness, cleanliness of the room, and good breakfast. However, staying at a hotel of the same brand this time was very different. This hotel was unfriendly, and I didn't like the room, but despite requesting a change, they were too rude, so I stayed put. When I entered the room and opened the curtains, I found the windows covered in thick dust. I've come to realize that even within the same hotel brand, there can be significant differences. It's regrettable to give a low rating, but even one star feels like too generous of a gesture."

"Do not stay here!! This location seems very unsafe. There are people just walking around the parking lot who look like they are under the influence. The hallways smell like urine and the area despite being next to the domain is very run down. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for somewhere safe and clean to stay with their family."

"Great experience here! The breakfast was so phenomenal. Highly recommend. Its a bit of an older property, but if you don't care about fancy walk in showers or things like that, this price is right. It says right off the bat it's a 2 star hotel. So yeah, the bed covering is a little cheap, the shower curtain was the worst. But for 2 stars that's what I would expect. The staff was great, the lobby was clean, I got extra towels when I asked. It was fine."

"I’m not one to just write bad reviews, but I’m writing this for others to be aware of the cleanliness of this hotel. After looking at reviews I clearly didn’t do my due diligence in checking reviews first. On the website, this hotel looks like a newer, nice hotel! Actually I think it was built as a nice one, they just do not maintain it at all. When we first walked in, I happened to notice the concrete out front and thought to myself, I hope this isn’t an indication of what the hotel will be like. That was a weird observation, because, no, I do not usually just check out the cleanliness of concrete, so it must have jumped out at me for a reason. When we went in to check in. The girls were friendly, but there was a sign on the counter that said they do not do housekeeping for your room unless you stay over 3 nights. Again, this made me wonder about the cleanliness. I don’t even know how to explain it, the place just already felt dirty. On the way up, the elevator was scratched up and had graffiti in it, then doors had dents or paint chips missing. At this point really starting to question our decision. The room just felt like it had a layer of funk. There was gunk on the vanity, the bathroom floor hadn’t been completely cleaned, you could just visibly see areas that had clearly not been cleaned in a very long time. We double checked the bed, it seemed to be clean, but I won’t lie, we couldn’t feel comfortable in it because everything else was so dirty! I think overall, this was built to be a nice hotel but it’s like they invest NOTHING to keep it maintained or clean. Down to minimally stocking the area to buy snacks and drinks. I’d rather stay in an older clean hotel then one that you can just feel the funk! Actually we got back to our room for the second night and just couldn’t even stay."

"Our stay at the hotel was incredibly disappointing. Right from the start, the air conditioning in our first room wasn't functioning, forcing us to switch rooms. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the second room was also subpar. To add to the frustration, there were no toiletries provided, and the breakfast was so unsatisfactory that we skipped it altogether. On top of all this, the customer service was exceptionally poor. It's disheartening to say, but I'm considering a 0-star rating due to these numerous issues."
