"The location is the only positive for this hotel. Parking is valet only, $50 a night which is absolutely absurd. This is not mentioned anywhere on their site. Our room had only one non-fitted sheet, no comforters or blankets of any kind. There was no soap. Seriously, no soap? The room and hallways smell like stale cigarette smoke. With the pricing of valet parking you may as well stay somewhere nicer and Uber into downtown for the same price."
"Looks are deceiving. I’d rate it lower in normal circumstances except that this is really not a bad option at all! Even the beds are comfy and the staff is nice. It is really quiet too. I’m impressed. Compared to all of the other prices around, I’m surprised they even have a bath tub inside. It’s a good last minute option."
"We chose this hotel because of its location - the only reason anyone would. I recognize and applaud the entire staff who are all kind, helpful, and competent but have to work in a very rundown environment. They do their jobs well and deserve better support from corporate. The location is terrific and owners could make a lot more money and have satisfied guests if they invested in the place instead of letting it go to ruin. It seems shortsighted to me."
"THE ONLY HOTEL ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE CAPITOL! The location and the price are amazing! It is right across the street from the Capitol Square and it was like $61 a night. But the staff and the service are horrible, which is why im giving a 3-star review. The rooms are very basic, but for the price you can't really expect anything more. Everything is a little worn out, which is fine. They only clean the room every third day and we stayed here for five nights. We asked for the room to be cleaned at least three times, and it wasn't. And the last night, the room cleaning consisted of the cleaning lady putting two towels in the bathroom and removing the dirty towels. We were totally out of the toilet paper and even the toilet paper wasn't replaced. Most of the staff at the front desk was pretty rude, but the one guy was really nice. They kept denying everything NO to everything, including extra blankets. So if you want the great great location you can walk to everything from, and the Really reasonable price, don't expect a mansion, this is a great deal. But don't expect your room to be cleaned or the staff to be nice to you, especially the female staff. The last photo shows the towels should replaced, after 4 days of stay, plus she threw some soaps and shampoos all over the bathroom countertop, when she did her "cleaning". Like I said before, the location is awesome, it is literally across the street from the Capital Square and easy to walk to the Congress Street. There is also Avis and Budget car rentals just two blocks away towards the freeway, and the cars are much cheaper to rent at $15 from there then they are from the airport. Uber from the airport is typically $13, but if it's in the middle of the night it's about $40. They added the $45 valet parking fee, so I ended up renting a Navy Scar from two blocks away, using it for the day, and then returning it in the evening. People are still using the valet parking, so I understand that business is business and don't blame them for charging for it, because every hotel around here does charge for parking and they have limited parking."
"So. Where to begin? I’ll say that if you’ve come to this review and you’ve already read the plethora of one-star reviews, I have nothing much to add because they’re all pretty accurate. Instead of piling on, let me just say this about the parking situation. Yes, you will be surprised to know that although they have a parking garage, it is valet only and it costs an absurd amount. However, it’s not a requirement. There is ample street parking around the hotel, but it is metered. Here’s what’s funny about that, though: one day I wasn’t able to get back to the meter to re-up (it’s like $4.00 for each three-hour block of time from 7 am to 6 pm on weekdays), so I ended up getting a parking ticket. The cost to valet park overnight at the hotel is roughly $50. My parking ticket fee? $25. Yep. It’s actually cheaper to take your chances getting a parking citation by parking on the street adjacent to the hotel than it is to park at the actual hotel. Overall, this is an awful place to stay. The bright spot was the person at the front desk who, at the very least, had a sense of humor about the fact that I came to see her at least twice a day to get my room key reactivated because it would inexplicably deactivate itself."
