Holiday Inn Express & Suites Houston-Alvin, an IHG Hotel

"We booked a room at this hotel. It was a two queen suite. We checked in around 4pm on a Monday. There was one worker at the desk. We got into our room and everything looked fine. We went into the bathroom. It had a very high ceiling. I looked up an it was full of black mold. We went to the front desk and the lady said they were all booked and just offered the money back. she did not seem surprised that I complained. There was sporting events in the area and I didn't know if I could get another room, so I asked if someone could clean it. She stated she was there alone and could try at some point. I went and found another hotel. Hopefully they blocked off this room and cleaned/repainted it."

"Well I would give 0 stars due to the fact whatever employee at 4:15pm on 2/23/24 had me on hold for 15min or tried calling back numerous times just to hear someone laughing and hung up the phone… I was trying to find out rates for my husband since he is getting paid per diem for at least 6wks.. but due to the rude woman employee I will be taking my business elsewhere!! Very unprofessional and should be fired.."

"Mahogoney is amazing!! From the beginning to the end of my two week stay this hotel was nothing short of a great experience . A very calm and professional atmosphere and extremely clean. I was in the area for work and it was super convenient for my commute, with a decent food selection close by. I Would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you to all the staff who made me feel right at home even being 1400 miles away from mine."

"Pamela at the front desk is great! Such a sweetheart. She helped this little simple country boy from arkansas set up my rewards program I've been missing out on. Told me the good restaurants as well in the area. I will sure be back to stay again just to see her! All rounded the place is great!"

"The front counter people from when I check in through the night and when I check out was extremely nice and helpful. I don’t think you could train anybody better than those three girls. The rooms were very clean and nice, but not what I ask for. I requested a regular room and not a handicap room, but it was ok. The fire alarm did go off early that morning I mean early. But if it was a real fire we would have been safe. Thank you. Now the breakfast area was clean but the breakfast was supposed to be from 5:30am-9:30am. So when I got there at 7:30am they was out a few things. And when I ask about them I got told no they not making anymore. There is still two more hours left and you stop making food two hours early?"
