Maya's Modern Mediterranean 9540 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218

"Being that I am a Michigan Native middle eastern cuisine specifically Lebanese is very familiar to my palate. The staff are very nice and welcoming. I loved the ambiance of the resturant. There are large windows which allow alot of natural light to enter. The foods plating was just as picture perfect. The foods flavor however was different from what I am familiar with as it pertains to mediterranean cuisine. I ordered a falafel pita and the spices seemed to be lacking it could have used a bit more cumin and coriander it also was very mushy as though it was undercooked. According to the menu they air fry as opposed to actually frying the falafel which leaves it a bit mushy and not as crisp as the traditional cooking method of oil. They also layer a medley of red and orange bell peppers onto the pita which give it a very odd flavor. It wasn't bad just not what I'm used to. I took my mom who ordered the salad which was very attractive but also not what we are used to eating being that the ingredients included eggs and dried cranberries. Overall it's a spin and twist to traditional Mediterranean food. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either."

"We really enjoyed out meal!!! We were so happy to have healthy, delicious food. The falafel, fries and chicken schnitzel are all air fried. Nothing was greasy. I haven't had falafel in 20 years because I refuse to eat fried food, so this was such a treat! I can't wait to return to this restaurant!"

"We were looking for some healthy choices to dine and found Maya's . Great place, menu and food quality. Ample servings and a good value. Our only concern is we are not a fan of ordering at the counter because if you are not familiar with Mediterranean dishes or sauces, you feel rushed and is confusing. I think they should have pictures of their menu choices with a description. Same thing with the sauces and which dishes are best with them. Having to just randomly pick a flavor can be disappointing, as was our experience."

"Went out of my comfort zone to try some new, cultural food. It was good, though not filling. If you're looking for a light lunch, this will certainly do. A lot of what I ordered tasted a little bland or very much like lemon. Not sure I'd come back, just might not be my cup of tea food wise and that's okay. Service was great."
