"Anthem is the absolute worst insurance that a person can hav and I would get be them 1/10000000th of a star if I could. I had United Healthcare for about 5 years through my wife’s employer and received great patient care. No hassles and no hoops to jump through, until her company decided that they would no longer offer coverage for spouses. My job offered Anthem medical and I chose the plan that was more expensive and not bare bones because I do have medical issues. I have had Anthem for 2 months and had had more problems with them than I’ve had with any other company I’ve had in the other 42 years of my life. Immediately they stopped covering the mounjaro that I took for my type 2 diabetes despite the fact that I have had blood work that proves I have type 2 diabetes. That had been in appeal for over a month now with no progress. My sugar is higher, I am sick and I feel very unwell because of this. Unfortunately I suffered a seriously torn rotator cuff about 3 weeks ago. I visited my orthopedic surgeon where they stated that I definitely have a torn rotator cuff and that I’d need an MRI to see the damage and make a plan for surgery. Anthem denied coverage for the MRI saying that “It is not medically necessary”. I can’t raise my arm high enough to scratch my nose and I’m in constant pain that prevents me from sleeping at night, but it’s not medically necessary! Ugh! This company denies coverage for everything and I am basically being robbed as they take around $200 out of each of my paychecks and do NOTHING but refuse to offer the service I pay for. DO NOT get coverage with Anthem, as it seems to me their strategy is to deny coverage and hope you get so frustrated and so discouraged that you either stop appealing or they hope that you die before your constant appeals are approved so they can pocket your money and not provide the insurance that you pay for. They are a God awful, morally bankrupt company that preys on the injured and sick who unfortunately signed up for their coverage. Avoid them at all costs if you want any kind of coverage."
"My husband and I just switched to this “insurance” through his job and we have yet to get our medical card and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get in contact with a human. When we do find a number all we get is “that’s not us we can’t help you OR give you the correct number for your state.” Honestly I’m ready for open enrollment to get away from them already. I’m without my inhaler and can’t wait to see how much they will COVER. When I can fill it. Useless."
"Anthem had $6.03 billion in net earnings for 2022. Somehow the budget didn’t fit quality insurance cards that last, instead I received a flimsy/laminated piece of paper that bends every time it goes in my wallet. All I wanted was an old school insurance card…"
"If I could give a 0 star I would. Terrible people. Refusing to pay for my sister's cancer treatment. May everyone involved with this company rot in hell."
"If there was a way I could give them zero stars I would . Customer care sucks if I didn't have to give them any stars I would do that in a heartbeat they promise you the world and they delivered nothing they owe me for two months of my Kroger money card they told me that I might not even get one of them even though the young lady told me when I first was enrolled that it was already in the mail. So if I if I could I would not give them anything this place sucks do not do their insurance it's really bad plus they don't mind taking your money but they don't want to help you with anything."
