"I went here for a few years. I went to an after school program here around the age of 10 here and I think Primrose is overall a pretty good daycare and Montessori school. If you are looking for a good Montessori school, I would look into Midland Montessori School because of some of the reasons I’m about to mention here. The teacher turnover rate is surprisingly high, I had 4 teachers in the course of 1 year which is kinda crazy. It’s probably just the after school thing but I have some more complaints. There aren’t any locks on the bathroom doors (is this even legal?). In my first week I went to take a tinkle and I opened the door to see a kid taking a dump. Another thing is that is a lack of punishment. You could get away with almost here. You could punch someone in the face and give them a bloody nose and the most that would happen is the teacher pulls you to the side and says that’s not very nice. (Disclaimer, I never punched someone in the face but I’ve seen it happen). Probably the most violent thing I’ve done here is while playing some gun game, my friend and I made working crossbows with rubber bands and some plastic toys that could shoot plastic rods 30 feet. We did this for quite a bit, (not sure how the teachers didn’t stop us, flinging plastic rods through the air at 60 feet per second.) until I hit a kid in the forehead (whoops). The kid started crying and we somehow didn’t get punished even though we totally had it coming. The teacher didn’t even talk to us for being so reckless. Kids would throw actual traffic cones at us and that’s how I ended up with a lot of bruises (nothing happened to the kids). I also don’t appreciate the new administration. The director quit and the new director was very strict on the teachers, she also shut down the after school program with very little notice so I switched over to Mrs. Irene’s childcare who I also wrote a review on. All the kids over the age of 8 or so are very nice, the kids younger are either complete psychopaths or nice curious kids. The food they have there is pretty mediocre and they have quite a bit of outside time. Anyways to sum it up, I would definitely recommend Midland Montessori over this place for any real educational purposes. Daycare and after school wouldn’t be that bad, the facilities are fairly recent and actually look like a school and not an abandoned house (looking at you Mrs. Irene’s). My final complaint is the noise although the baby rooms are very quiet. All the daycares/after schools I’ve been too are very loud though so i guess it just is a part of having lots of disorderly kids with nothing to do. I’m probably going to update this sometime in the future. Shoutout to Mrs. Noche even though I doubt she still works here due to turnaround rates and such."
"We had a great experience at Primrose. I felt like my kids were safe and happy with these teachers. The teachers are great quality and there is turnover but likely due to low wages. (please pay your teachers more!) Our experience in Midland was enriched by our time at Primrose. Thank you to all the staff and teachers especially Ms Randolph, Ms. Sapphire, Ms. Beltran, Ms April, Ms Carolina. Special thanks to Ms Randolph for saving my daughters life when she choked on some bread. She was well prepared and acted swiftly. I will forever be indebted to you Ms Randolph! The school has good covid and sickness protocols. There are cheaper options in Midland but this place has quality curriculum! My kids are now ahead of their peers academically! No school is perfect, but overall we had a good experience with Primrose. Thank you!!"
"Our daughter has been at primrose for two years. Since being there it has mostly been great, we had one little issue with a teacher assistant but they handled it immediately. Since then they have made sure our daughter is taken care of. She does really well there and the teachers really care. They have helped with potty training, teaching colors, numbers and shapes. They read books, paint and have a bunch of different activities through out the year. They are very structured and have a certain way to do things. There are some reviews talking about bad kids, it’s a daycare, not a behavior specialist. Some kids need more attention and it’s not fair for the rest of the other kids who behave to have to put up with a kid who has behavioral issues. I actually appreciate that they don’t put up with bad kids that take attention away from the rest of the kids. It’s a great option for people looking for a day care in Midland. My biggest complaint is that I wish we got more pictures of there activities since we don’t get to spend too much time with our kiddo during the day."
"Terrible. As someone else put it money doesn't mean quality. After Covid we had to search for another daycare because the one we used for the past 5 years was not reopening. Comparing to our old daycare I was not impressed with the care provided. Not much you can do when other daycare programs have year long waitlists. If your child pushes boundaries, is energetic, or honorary they consider this bad behavior. If you child has sensory issues they do not try to help or understand. They send the child home in the middle of the week often. Once you've paid childcare for the week they don't care. This daycare only wants to take your money. They claim they have trained teachers and caregivers who want to help your child grow but in reality they lack the experience and have a big turnover rate. It is more important to them to back up teachers than reach out or speak to parents/guardians. They know that they have another child on the waitlist to take the open spot."
"Our son has attended since he was 4 months old. He is now 3 years old, and I am just blown away by his knowledge and skills he has acquired at Primrose. My husband and I both work and we read nightly to him and do what we can, but it is evident most learning is from Primrose. We go on walks and he tells me about acorns, we read at night and he knows what shadows are. He holds his pencil correctly, and is socially, emotionally, and academically doing so well! He has empathy, and is gentle with animals, he apologizes and understands when others are sad. It is just amazing. We highly recommend."
