Crackin' Crab 2207 South Western Street, Amarillo, TX 79109

"This is the kind of place where you don't want to admit the food is mediocre because of the price point, but I ended up leaving with an empty stomach and an emptier wallet. We all ordered something different, both crabs were ok, the fried shrimp was meh, and the catfish was so dry it was almost like eating a cracker. Yet for both their nasty fried dishes, they had the audacity to charge $15 and $16. This place is absolutely terrible at making basic food. The sides are just a potato, corn, or a sausage. You can have all 3 for an up charge of course, that depends on how much crab you buy. What's worse is the side items are supposed to be cooked with the crab, so when you order the fried dishes, they are boiled with no seasoning and are bland as hell. I know this is a crab place, but for as small as their menu is, they should be able to fry a frickin catfish easy. If you go here, the fried food is laughably terrible, and the crab isn't spectacular. Honestly, there are other seafood places in town who can do a lot better job at cooking seafood in general. Go to Sam's Southern Eatery instead, much bigger portions, way cheaper, and much better quality. No crab is worth enduring the Crackin' Crab."

"My 1st time here but definitely not my last! Walking in the restaurant is neat and clean & the waitress seated us immediately. The food was delicious. Lobster was done perfectly as was the King Crab. You need to give this place a try if you haven't already."

"We met the owner they were nice and very friendly. The waiter was very nice and friendly very helpful. I really loved the decor and atmosphere. I don't typically get sauce on my seafood but this side was something else i ordered it on the side the spices were just right it made the flavor of the food pop instead of covering it up. I would recommend going all day everyday"

"My friend raved about this place so we went to check it out. The lemon pepper wings were probably some of the best I've tried in Amarillo! The boil seasoning was not as hot and spicy like we thought it would be. If you want to try something different, give it a chance and let me know what you thought. We were a little disappointed in the heat level and the Sapporo beer was Luke warm at best."

"Ordered the gill was enough for 2 but I managed most of it...lol...was pretty good the sauce was a tad salty but enjoyable. I've eaten at other seafood boils in other states...it's on par with them and what I'd expect.... Would I recommend......yes Would I eat here again...yes.. And it was reasonably priced"
