"I have tried many different gymnastic gyms in the area as I have 5 kids and we have lived in other neighborhoods across Austin. I had read the reviews about smells, and yet I chose Acrotex Cedar Park for the convenient location close to home. We have enjoyed many instructors over the years, and I have seen my kids progress in their strength and agility. Even at the recreational level, the coaches give my kids individual attention and I have seen development. What has impressed me the most and will keep me here is the flexibility and coordination they have offered as I adjust classes over the years. The number of classes they offer is extensive, and I have been able to find the right balance so all of my kids can attend at the same time. This is significant because each year (if not more often), schedules change and it is a juggling game to find a doable schedule for our family. Because of the way Acrotex will coordinate and communicate with me, we have been able to find the right balance so all of my kids can satisfy their interests and be healthy, at the time I need it! And they have helped me with both dance and gymnastic interests. Their efforts have been above and beyond, and it feels like an extension of family. I am grateful that they would care about helping me find the right balance for our family that will allow the kids to grow. And I have seen an improvement in the smells :) It is a difficult thing to do with all those sweaty kids, but it is pleasant when you walk in to a clean and fresh smell."
"I am an experienced gymnastics coach and I applied to work here. This is my experience: I was called by the female owner to come in and stay for an hour long class after an interview. I arrived a few minutes early but was told the owner hadn't arrived yet and had to wait until after my interview was scheduled to start which is fine, but there weren't even chairs so I just felt in the way. The interview was going fine until the male owner came in and started what I can only describe as an interrogation, talking over me, asking me the same questions multiple times (even after extensively explaining my background in my application as a champion gymnast and many years as a nanny) and quite obviously insulting my other work I mentioned working in film. I was put off by it but decided to go ahead and stay to observe a class. They asked if I wanted to teach and I told them I'd prefer to watch since I didn't know anything about their gym, students or way of teaching but they basically insisted (the last time I interviewed and was asked to teach a class I was given compensation but that was not offered here). I enjoyed getting to work with the girls class and had many students thank me at the end, some even gave hugs and everyone seemed to be very happy and everyone stayed perfectly safe. Right after the class, the female owner didn't say a word, walked me out, told me to grab my purse and write down my info for a background check. I followed up after my interview in an email asking if they would like me to forward them my references and to let me know if they needed anything else from me. I got no response of any kind. It's now been two weeks and I no longer expect a response. If someone spends almost two hours interviewing for a position at your business, I feel like at the very least they deserve an answer one way or another. This review is only intended to show the character and business practices of this gym so that potential patrons are aware and can make a fully informed decision."
