"My first visit to Kendall Karsen’s Upscale Soul Food. I was drawn to the restaurant due to the upscale part; however, i did not get the feel of upscale… location/parking, furniture choice, and even with dining in, I thought I would get my food served on a plate and my drink in a glass at the minimum for upscale….that disappointment alone almost gave you guys a 1 star due to the false ad. The service was wonderful!!!! The best part really…aside from the really loud music and the TV playing at the highest volume… like choose one! Anyhow, my order was rotisserie chicken/dressing, yam, mac and cheese, and a dinner roll. The chicken was fall off the bone good. The yams were good, but a little dry. No complaints on the dressing, it was delicious with the white gravy! Bae got the veggie plate; cabbage, loaded mash potatoes, and green beans. My plate and servings were great for to go. Bae plate…. Well ummm very disappointing. See picture for the presentation and portion failure, especially considering the order was a “veggie plate”… it was giving “additional sides”. We but agreed that the Mac and cheese was perfect. The potatoes were good. Someone forgot to seasoning on the cabbage for sure… or maybe chop the cabbage a bit smaller to hold the seasoning better… idk I appreciate the clean environment and look forward to tasting other options but it will be last resort."

"Deserves 10 Stars rather than a normal 5! Wow!!!! Whoever taught this chef to cook taught him very well how to master the art of cooking! This is one of the best local spots I have ever tried. Service was a tad slow but verrrrry worth the wait!! Every piece of food that I tasted had love and soul tucked right in! I will definitely make many trips back when we are in the Dallas area. Yes, I will come 30min out of my way just to try this satisfying deliciousness!!!! Highly recommend!!!!"

"I found this place 4 days ago and have ordered every day since! I even plan on ordering today. The food is hot and fresh and tastes like it's really made with love. I was so happy when I ordered dressing and it came with cranberry sauce! My Lord! The restaurant itself is quaint and neat, very clean with some of the best old school RnB. You have to try almost everything here! The service is wonderful. Over the phone and in person, the gentleman in the photo is always sweet and accommodating. I am shown my order before I leave, and it makes the anticipation of getting to eat that much better!"
