"Today, an older bagger felt strongly about my race, prompting her to leave her station to assist another bagger who seemed confused by her offer. Fortunately, a younger bagger intervened promptly, and the cashier, who appeared embarrassed by the situation, went above and beyond to restore a sense of pride in shopping at HEB. I commend both the younger bagger and the cashier for their exemplary behavior. This message is directed to the manager: it is imperative that all employees at HEB receive training to serve our community without prejudice. If HEB's policies strictly prohibit any form of discrimination, it is essential that your employees adhere to these guidelines."
"This is my Goldilocks HEB. Not too big, not to small, it's just right. Good quality and selection in the produce section. Love the kosher bakery items that are available here. The apple cinnamon golden raisin bread is delicious. My only complaint, no customer service counter. If you have an issue with a product that you want to return or exchange you have to go through a check out line with a cashier to get it handled. And the lines are always loooong. I think it is a way to get you to just say forget it and not worth the bother to get a small refund or exchange an inexpensive item."
"Honestly it's a great store with everything I need, most areas are very nice and the prices are good for essentials. However the produce often looks rough and expires very quickly after buying. "Fresh" herbs like basil are always withered on the shelf but labeled as organic and sold at ridiculous prices. Also not a fan of the layout-- cheese and vitamins/supplements are split into 2 opposite ends of the store, dried fruit is in 3 different places, meat/milk/eggs are way in the back, and most things in the "Asian foods" aisle belong in other sections. I know the store well, but routinely have to look all over the place for specific items."
