"I cannot recommend this place (Menchaca) if you're looking for respectful treatment. I ordered a hot cocoa but received a cold chocolate milk instead. When I approached the barista to inquire about reheating it, I felt dismissed and met with a condescending look. Despite standing in front of the counter, my concerns were ignored until the barista reluctantly asked what I needed. I requested the drink to be heated, explaining my preference for hot cocoa. However, I was informed they lacked a microwave, and the only option was to make a new one. Feeling frustrated, I accepted the cold drink and left. This experience left me dissatisfied, especially considering the price. I advise caution if you expect your hot drinks to be served as such. Additionally, I couldn't help but notice differential treatment. While the barista was courteous to others, I felt a lack of friendliness that seemed to be based on my appearance. I do not recommend this place, particularly if you're Hispanic and in your 40's, unless you conform to a certain look. Discrimination has no place in customer service, and it's disappointing to encounter such bias."

"One of my favorite places. every food/drink I've ever tried has been good here (and the Hyde Park location). Good service. I recently checked out their DJ night and the whole Soundspace area and bar is also very cool. There was a little back area outside too with a vendors market. Great vibes"

"Really great coffee- my favorite drink however is the iced Yerba Mate that has pineapple in it. My boyfriend and I stopped here before running errands and it was great. The baristas are sweet, the quality of the food and drinks are superb, the quickness of service was great too. There's so many things to do here, I definitely want to come back for a trivia night or something."

"We come to this bakery often and have ordered chocolate pie and cakes for birthdays. Today I walked in and got a slice of pie when it was given to me, it looked like it was just a pile of mush. I asked if I could have another slice that would hold up a bit better. The employees at the front looked at each other and just smirked. I’m not sure if she got a new slice or if she tried to fixed the slice of pie that she already gave me. The whipped cream looks like it curled and the pie was melted."

"Without a doubt one of my favorite coffee shops in town, with the best triple chocolate cake. My new go to is combining their horchata with coffee to go with my cake slice. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and delicious pastries!"
