Reviews
"Nice and friendly atmosphere. Rebecca Armstrong is a great stylist."
"I am writing this review to warn people before even trying to waste there time and money on the Villa Salon. Located off at 5380 N. Mesa St. Needless to say I am more then dissatisfied with this salon. Not only are the prices already ridiculous for the work that comes out of this place. But the management and owner ship morale is very low... We found it a very, very unpleasant place to be in. The so called owner/ manager (Patty) who ever. Was more then rude, disrespectful and unpleasant to her working employees. These workers actually went to school and worked up the hours and hours of training they needed to become licensed in cosmetology. Just to find there way to a unwelcoming place like the Villa Salon. For instance in the time that we were there we had witnessed an altercation between the manager/owner and one of the hair stylist there. It was over another customers hair treatment. As confidant as the stylist was about what she was doing to please the customer. The so called manager/owner became furious with her and started telling her how to do her job. Putting her down as well. By telling her what she was doing was wrong, and that she doesn't know what she's talking about..... all while the customer was sitting there hearing this go on around her. When the stylist calmly told the manager/owner that everything was ok and that the treatment was soon to be done. The manager/owner decided to take it upon herself to start pulling off the treatment the customer had in her hair right in front of the stylist. While nearly yelling at her telling her that she didn't know what she was doing and continued talking to the customer in Spanish about the stylist and what she clamed was the problem. Just making everyone feel so disrespected and put down. After the customer left. The stylist walked out to clear her head and really think about her having any future working for a salon owner that didn't respect her in front of a customer. Or respect her as a Licensed full blown cosmetologist....for those that don't know. A full blown cosmetologist is someone that is licensed by the state or states through out the U.S. To work on Hair, Nails, Make-Up, Waxing, ect.. just about anything that you can think of that you can get done at any real salon. Being a full cosmetologist takes years of schooling, training and lots of money.. right around $18,000 to $30,000... When the stylist had returned to the salon she was getting ready to tell the manager/ owner that she was no longer interested in working for her. But before she could the manager/owner decided to giver a small percentage for the work that she had done and then ended up firing her. Shortly after, we caught up with the stylist and asked her for a small interview. She explained what she had went through while working there. We respectfully helped her do some research and found her a new place to work. She is now happier then ever. Her client bass shot through the roof. Her new employers are very respectful and happy with the clean and professional work she keeps performing. We also found out that the manager/owner of the Villa Salon was not even licensed in cosmetology. There for, her uneducated decision to mess with a licensed stylist's work on a customer was not hers to make. Apparently, the manager/owner only holds a nail tech license and is trying for a license in hair but has not even finished her schooling yet. So, People of El Paso!! BEWARE of the decisions that are made around you if you ever go to the Villa Salon to get anything done. And Always make sure that who ever it is working on your hair, nails, make-up, ect.. has a license before they try working or giving out any advice to you. Remember, these people who are licensed went through everything they needed to required by state-law. So don't let anyone make a bad decision even if they are the Manager/owner of any salon. Check and always make sure they have their license before they think they can make any type of decision about what your stylist is doing. NOT ALL OWNERS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!"
