"So if you don't know I'm a huge BBQ FAN!! We came by to check this place out. First off these guy's did not disappoint! Right when you pull up you can smell the wood burning and the meat cooking! When you walk in and your standing in line you can see there big smokers behind glass in a different room and you can see the pit masters working and there meat carvers trimming the fresh briskets. I always like seeing what's going on behind the scenes! We got the whole sha-bang with everything! It was all good! For sides I loved the Brussel sprouts and the tater tot casserole the best. As for the meat the turkey was fire and the sausage was good as well. The pulled pork was good and the Brisket was really good as well . The Brisket could have used about 3 hours more rest as the pull was quite herd. But the flavor was good. Franklin BBQ in Austin still has truth on the Brisket. But all in all with all the sides as good as they are and everything else I think TRUTH is better all around."
"Best barbecue in Texas. Austin and Dallas can’t compete with Truth BBQ and you can’t tell me otherwise. Turkey breast was soooo tender and apparently their most popular meat. But also the brisket and pork ribs were delicious. Would also recommend Brussels sprouts as a side. The only downside is the very long wait time…you have to arrive early to wait less than 40min"
"We ordered the ‘whole shebang’ plate since there were 4 of us, which was 1/2 pound of each of their meats, 4 individual size sides, 4 slices of bread, pickled red onions, and pickles. We added two extra sides. It was 2 Ribs, a ball of pulled pork, 2 slices of turkey, 2 slices of brisket, and a link of regular flavor sausage. Our sides were 2 macaroni and cheese because we had heard it was that good, tater tot casserole (hash brown casserole anywhere else), potato salad, greens, and the Brussels sprouts. I was surprised to see the bread they serve is Martin’s brand potato bread which is what we use as our daily bread at home, it’s delicious bread. All the sides were incredible and the meat was all delicious. The ribs had the most smoke absorbed of any of the meats. The pickles and onions were a great accompaniment. Both their sauces found table side were delicious. The iced tea was fresh, flavorful and crisp. The staff were very helpful and friendly especially Jerry who kept our table cleared, and helped us with lids to pack our leftover sides for home. I ordered two slices of cake to go; the chocolate and carrot and ate some of each once home. The chocolate cake and icing was a dark chocolate flavor and while I would’ve appreciated it not being too sweet this cake was really a little bitter for us and so dry we couldn’t eat it. The carrot was dense with ingredients and the cream cheese frosting was plentiful and delicious. We got there 10 till 11am, the opening time and a line was formed which moved rather slowly. We left at 12:20 and there were open spots and no line any longer so maybe the line is an initial rush then calms down."
"The brisket was absolutely fantastic. Moist, bark tender. The house sausage was also quite good. We tried the cole slaw, potato salad, banana pudding, Brussels sprouts, and birthday cake!! Highly recommend each for quality, freshness and really good flavor. There was a VERY long line to get in but it was worth the wait. They also have bar b q training classes on how to prepare and cook your favorite meats!!"
"Came here for the brisket… left thoroughly impressed with EVERYTHING. Brisket, Ribs and pulled pork were all better than I could make at home, and I thought I was good at it! The sides were fantastic: Mac and cheese, corn pudding, beans and tater tot casserole were all top notch. We loved them all. The banana pudding is out of this world. If you think you don’t like banana pudding like I did, try this one. It was a surprise winner."
