"Made the trek from North Texas to see the fam in Houston. While there, we hit up the Museum of Fine Arts and checked out some incredible exhibits – especially "Kehinde Wiley: An Archaeology of Silence" and "Multiplicity: Blackness in Contemporary American Collage." After a brain-melting art marathon, Grace's Restaurant was the perfect place to unwind and chat about what we saw. The place had a cool vibe and the food was even better. I started with the Sweet and Sour Calamari and Shrimp with Chinese broccoli and green tea soba noodles. It was a refreshing twist on the classic, with perfectly cooked seafood and a delicious sauce. For the main course, I went with the Sausage Stuffed Chicken Breast, served with candied yams, cornbread dressing, green beans, and collard greens. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the stuffing was a delightful combination of savory sausage and sweet cornbread. The whole dish felt like a warm hug from grandma's kitchen."
"When to Grace's for a birthday dinner. Reservations were made so the wait was within reason for the size of our party. Parking is ample with a garage next door or you can valet. Good menu selection for everyone including me, the picky eater! Food came out hot and prepared perfectly. Good portion sized meals that would not leave you stuffed if you finish your plate. The atmosphere is great and music is not loud where you have to talk loudly for your conversations. The wait staff is nice and friendly. It is a casual restaurant where you don't have to get overly dressed but it is not a shorts and t-shirt place either. I recommend this place and plan to go back and try the brunch soon!"
"This place is nice. I do recommend it if you are on lunch break, a little date, a family date, or co-workers lunch break. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, and it was good. The corn bread is the best I ever had. As an entrée, we ordered the chicken stuffed with crab meat, that was good. We ordered the gumbo, it wasn’t my favorite. And we ordered the shrimp tacos, it was good. The service was VERY good by Cameron."
"No bookings accepted during daytime on weekends. Arrived 11+am on a Sunday and waited maybe 20min once all party arrived. Hostess was friendly. Do dress appropriately (no slippers) as they reserve the right to decline service otherwise. Our waitress was prompt and helped us make our choices. Complimentary cornbread on a skillet was nice and I typically hate cornbread. We each had frozen mimosas and an entree each which comes with a soup or salad. Pictures shown were stuffed poblanos and cajun stuffed chicken which were all nice. Desserts were lemon ice box cake which did not hold back on the lemon tartness (hence it was very sweet to balance out the tartness) and bread pudding. We preferred the bread pudding if it had less sweet cream on it. Note the restaurant already charges 18% gratuity in the bill ahead. Overall would return...but would add the place was a little too crowded/tables too close for my liking."
"I love the way the restaurant is designed; it’s a large place but the rooms feel small and intimate. The Baked Potato Dip was a bit disappointing. It’s basically queso with bacon bits served with homemade potato chips. It was okay; I was expecting something different. The server said the crab cake was “amazing” and he was right. It’s not a “Maryland crab cake”; it has breading and fillers but, it’s seasoned well and extremely flavorful. I wasn’t expecting a lot from the French fries but, to my surprise, they were delicious! I’d heard good things about their Mac and cheese and that didn’t disappoint! Yum!!! The fried chicken is well seasoned and it’s a generous portion. The service was fantastic. They anticipated our needs, our requests were completed so fast and discretely, I didn’t even realize they brought over what we asked for lol. Bottom line, Grace’s is good; very good."
