Reviews
"The food was okay for the price it could have been better. I needed salt and pepper for everything. I had the trout with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I was not impressed. Although the strawberry lemonade was good and so was the service."
"This restaurant is very authentic. When you eat there, you're able to identify the different flavors and ingredients used. I also liked their special drinks. There's plenty of space and they even have a corner on the side where you can host a family party or group diner."
"The food here was VERY GOOD!! It was a choice that I made just from the menu and it was a hit. I recommend the seafood fries as an appetizer. My lady and I enjoyed them as well."
"Damani was a great waiter, considering it was only his second day. Great job, Damani!!! The Crab Shack was great all around. The crab cake was good and fresh, and the mashed potatoes and sauce were delicious. I also ordered the Soft Shell Crab Sliders, and it came with fries. The soft shell Crab tastes like it was fried in old grease (another one of my guest said her fish tasted like it was fried in old grease as well), but it would have been delicious otherwise. The staff was very nice and attentive. I would definitely give them another try."
"Let's begin. I have very high hopes for this family owned restaurant. I truly believe they should reduce their menu so they can focus on perfecting a few good dishes instead of serving a lot of basic dishes at a high price point. Considering this, I strongly recommend dining in vs taking to-go for your first time. We dined in and the customer service was outstanding. Overall food was delish with room for improvements considering the price point. Overall we spent a few bucks shy of $100 for 2 people ($110 total w/tip) What we ordered: Salmon bites w/ bombay dip - pre-breaded/cooked and then reheated (maybe air fried) when you order them. For this reason, they don't retain heat and get cold quickly, but still a tasty treat! It would be great if they were freshly fried or baked when ordered. Jerk Salmon Fish w/beans and rice and cabbage - Salmon portion was large and fresh and expertly baked. However, the "jerk" was nothing more than a dry McCormick-style seasoning rubbed on top, other than that it lacked flavor. They did offer to redo with a wet marinade which I declined bc "jerking" is a cooking process...not a seasoning or marinade you just dip meat in. Again, if you don't specialize in it take it off the menu. The beans and rice was delish and so was the cabbage. The dish also came with complimentary cheap shoestring fries which was unclear from the vast unorganized menu. For $28...I personally dont want fries. I moved the salmon to my plates of beans and rice and dug in. Just have diners choose 2 sides and make fries an option. Hushpuppies are the standard frozen ones but were fresh. Cant get them wrong. Fried haddock fish fry w/mac n cheese and string beans (complimentary fries). The haddock is LARGE in portion size. Loved every bite of this meal (excluding the fries). The string beans still had a slight crunch (not boiled or overcooked) which we loved. Mac n cheese was cheesy and tasted as expected. Small jambalaya- S.A.L.T.Y. I actually poured it over my flavorless Salmon and the two was perfect together. Flavored lemonades - typical syrupy sweet drink. A restaurant of this caliber could benefit from fresh made lemonade."
